I just finished rebuilding my Axe after a little crash and here is what I did. I removed all ball links and sanded the flash line off all the balls and fit each link to the balls best I could. I balanced my main blades and added 1/16" wheel collars to the flybar. Wheel collars are about 1/3 the way out from flybar stabalizer. Then I put the whole rotor head on my high point balancer and got the spanwise balance right on and the cordwise balance close as I could. One wheel collar ended up about 3/8" in closer to flybar stabalizer to bring in cordwise balance (main blades vertical). Charged battery and went for a garage fly. Machine flys better than it ever has. Like night and day. WOW! Much more controlable with out being slugish and no vibration at all. Best thing that happend to me was my little crash. LOL.

I purchased my Robart high point balancer about 18 years back at LHS. I hear Robarts are hard to find now. Tower has Dubro Tru-Spin prop balancer that may work out for you. My LHS has very few parts for Axe now but they did have main rotor shafts. I bought one of these so I just pulled head off my heli and used spare shaft to balance and then put rotor head back on heli. I flew two flights in garage and they were the best full pack hovers so far for me. I now need LiPo battery and charger for longer fly times. Tonight I will mess with gyro gain

Flys better. Here are my vids so far. Was too windy out but I gave it a shot anyway. I have just installed hs-55 servos and will post about that soon. I had a crash due to the pitch servo coming loose so I went ahead and got the hitec servos while I was waiting for parts. Hope to make heli fly even better. My mods so far are balance head,Thunder Power 11.1v 1320mA LiPo,Hitec servos , and now it seems that with the info on the Futaba gyro install I will have to try that next. Trying to do cheeper mods that will make heli better and not just add bling. CNC head looks good but price too high. I don't know how good the metal head will make the heli fly because of the aluminum main shaft and loose fit of main shaft into main bearings. After I get a good amount of time flying the Axe then I will upgrade to a larger higher quality heli.
