Hey ya'll, I see Horizon has dropped the price on the CP Pro to 179.99. I suppose that is to clear them out before the CP Pro2 hits the market. There are some parts on it I like, n60 direct drive tail and the main motor has exposed/replacable brushes. The brush set is about $3. It uses a seperate gyro and dual esc plus it is Spektrum DSM2. I've flown Blades befoe and my HoneyBee CP is actually on a Blade frame. I think some of the improvements on the new Pro2 can be adapted to existing Blades.NB/ and maybe even the 22E.

Although, it's been a while since my last post, I still lurk every few days to catch on up the Wheeeee.... thread.

Per Barrick's request a few pages back I'd figure you all would like an update on my part.

It seems my heli progress has hit a stand still! I am comfortable with fast forward and mild 3D flight, but not near the praise I've read on the thread. INVERTED has proved to be too costly. I can do piro's, loops, and rolls; but every time the heli goes upside down my heart skips a beat. Actually, I get that same feeling every once in a while with nose in.

My flying skills progressed exponentially once I moved to the TREX 450. It's amazing how much more fun flying is when you have good electronics and real tail authority! Most likely the reason I no longer own a Blade CP or CP Pro.

Another reason my flight skills have remained stagnant is TIME, or lack there of. Until today, I haven't had a weekend for heli's in the past six weeks; and my Heli Hangar shows. Before yesterday, I only had ONE flyable heli left!

This past weekend gave me time to pick up some parts, make repairs, and get half my hangar back in action. I also got lots of time on the sticks over the last couple days with almost 20 flights, that's almost TWO HOURS of FLIGHT!

I found the same thing with my Rex but I only have a limitied heli flying space without having to drive 30 min. At my stage of developement, the Rex needs a lotta room, the 400 is docile enough to fly "some" but the CP size machine is just about perfect for "every evenin'" type flyin'.
Blade needs to do a belt drive CP to keep up....and offer metal parts....that's why I'm retiring my Pro for an HBK2 too. Plus the fact I can use my choice of electronics.
Been a bit stormy here last couple of days....not much of a chance 'cept last eve around 2000.
Two packs of Pro and one of 400. Got in some good hover time.
Sorta blustery here today but sundown could bring better conditions.

Ray, you'll be amazed at the reliability of the HBKII. There are issues out of the box that need addressed, but are inexpensive. I recommend the following:

*Belt throwing issue, the roller guieds where the belt goes into the boom are a tad short and the belt has a tendency to drop off the rollers. This causes MAJOR wear on the belt and damage. They sell longer rollers...a good and cheap fix. Don't worry about the CNC front belt pulley, it causes problems and the stock pulley works fine.

* skid struts, they're like glass and very fradgile (as well as too narrow). Stock Align skids do a fantastic job. They hold up much better, and wide enough to prevent "tip over".

*Tail rotor blades, the stock ones come up short on tail authority. A set of standard 450 tail blades improve control immensley.

* Li-Po, minimal 1500mAh 15C's with the below motor/esc combo

*motor and ESC, I recommend minimal 3200kv with a 25a ESC with 10 or 11T pinion. They can be purchased at:

* I highly recommend the HHG by E-Sky (0704A). Much better than the stock rate gyro.

fairly inexpensive too. The above will give you a highly reliable with ample power to get you out of trouble with the dreaded down drafts and you will be able to fly in up to 7mph winds faily well. The HBKII hates gusty winds, so avoid that situation.
