Hey All,

Rick, I hope all goes well with your new T-Rex, no substitute for their stability. Bob's video's are priceless, he's an amazing teacher.

My parts showed up today First thing, Michael @ Ushobbysupply is awesome Great customer service!

I decided to upgrade the motor first... I put the T-Rex tail fins on, too. First off: the motor, a Extreme Productions 4000kv brushless. Out of the box.... disappointment One of the wires immediately fell off, soldered but not a good connection. I setup to solder it back together and a second wire fell of I fixed both, re-shrink wrapped, and checked the third wire which seemed to be fine. before installing I did a run up and it worked. Installed the 10t align pinion and the tail rotors and went out to fly. It was a bit gusty today but not to bad. The motor is amazingly smooth and WAY more powerful than stock, I'll have to adjust the pitch trim because now it lifts off around 1/4 throttle I had a slight tail bob which I'll figure out as I go, something's to tight is my guess. At least the stock gyro is a half set up from the Blades 4-in-1. I have the Telebee HH gyro to throw on which I believe will be installed before the next battery pack.
I'm having a darn good time playing with this chopper! It's like a super light T-Rex

God Bless Y'all,

Jay

BTW, Vic ya gotta wait for the winds to die down with those Aerostars

Hey....it's fun to hover an airplane and fly backwards once in a while...I did both out there last night...LOL. The only reason I had some problems is....I'm a tad rusty with it.

It is pretty neat to get one to "back-up" The first time one of my best friends came out to watch me fly it was windier than $hit. I backed up an Uproar and then set it down like it was on an elevator. He couldn't believe it Of coarse it only works well when it's not gusting
God Bless Ya Vic,

Jay

Jay...I love flying in 15-18mph winds if it's not gusty. You can really get some awsome looking areobatics. Below is a letter from a guy I did work on his HBKII. He sent me the Ranger fuse I'm using now, and I sent him pics of the finished Ranger:

Vic,

Very nice.... Your a perfectionists and do impeccable work.

I have been flying my helicopter and getting better all the time..... What a difference when things are put together right. Thank you!

Charles F.

Speaking of winds....Wish they would settle down around here for the heli folks ! I just might have to get a few of them planes some time or a bigger heli so I don't lose air time fighting with the wind...lol.. Yesterday, the winds were calm in the evening, so I made the hike to the top of the property where there is a flat spot. When I got there it was dead calm. After I got situated and plugged the batt in, the wind started gusting ! Go figure... Happens everytime ! So to not make the hike a wasted trip, I snapped a few photo's for keepsakes in case of another horrific crash...LMAO...

The heli's front nose has a nice little battle wound on the nose as you see in the pic, it kind of gives it character now...Waxed right over it, and didn't even phase me... The house down the hill is where I'am staying. It's a little guest house towards the back, I'am looking down taking the picture from where I fly from up top.

Hope someone else is getting some flying in, I might have to get on the G4 to satisfy the hunger I suppose...

Jeff

That's a generous offer, I think Scott Walton would be a good candidate. I'm not going to be putting any parts on the Blade CP anymore. Still very flyable but if something happens, the journey will be done.

God Bless Ya,

Jay

Beautiful pics Jeff, that first one is so good it should be used for Align's advertising.

Jay,

Bummer on the 4000kv brushless problem, but you did get it resolved in a timely fashion. Kudos!

Tail bobs: Generally blade grips to tight, or some binding in the head assembly. Not a hard problem to resolve.

After installing the Telebee gyro, you may have to make tail rotor sero adjustments. Always something.

If you are using the stock TX, when adjusting pitch, either in normal mode or idle-up mode, make sure that the top left knob on the TX is at the 12 o'clock position.

So happy you are having a good time with it, I know I love my HBK2.

Hey, where's a picture. LOL

God Bless,

Dave / Choppersrule
