As I mentioned sometime back : I am going BACKWARDS at this Helicopter Hobby
I have learned to FLY, (basically) over 15 months (27 March '07 to June '08) and have NEVER ASSEMBLED OR REPAIRED anything...! Now, today, I am beginning to attempt repairs. I need to fight the lims. of my age, like sight, and super small items handling, but I begin to feel that I CAN DO IT ..... i guess if I can fly them, I should be able to fix them ?
Use to be pretty good at building things. MAYBE I SHOULD JUST STICK WITH THE ITEMS IN THE PICTURE ? This little dinghy was done, to trail behind a really nice OCEAN TUG....... my TUG pales when compared to the one my old friend built : that one weighed 150 Lbs. (electric, with Heavy Duty batteries) and towed a real boat with 6 people in it, for about one hour. Talk about Hobby Fanatics. !

Jay ~
Lol...! Some of the smileys crack me up also...The afro with the pick in the hair almost had me in tears, I thought it was hilarious ! Well my dad is done with the Mini Pulse XT. Taking her out tomorrow for a maiden. I'll film it. It shall be interesting ! (Neither know nothing...lol..) I can't believe how much cheaper all this plane stuff is. Heli's are expensive period...! But I love it...
Good thing ya made it out alive from the daggers being blown all which way ! CRAZY ! I always will catch myself staring at my Trex rotor head assembly, and respecting it greatly, as your life or major bodily harm could be at stake. I'am VERY orderly and anal about checking the heli ALL the time for anything weak, or out of whack, loose whatever !
I always just remember the story that BARRICK told of the Raptor and the trainee who severed the spine, and killed his instructor from a mishap....Bad news there...RC Heli's should be considered a 'dangerous hobby'...lol..
See ya around Jay...God Bless you...!
Jeff

Ray, I don't know what radio you have but most of the good ones are actually interchangable as far as the ratchet is concerned. I know that Hitec and fub haveadjustable or removable ratchets. I can find the directions for hitec if you want.
I had planned a 6 month learning curve for the heli, to hover that is, but the other night it seemed like I was so close. I'm thinking about a tool for blade alignment, a small spirit bulbble tha is mounedt in the blade grips by some wire. So you could ensure the grips are even prior to blade instalation. Any thoughts?
Oh, and do need/want a pitch gauge?
I thought the bass players would just light a couple of candles and keep on jamming.
