Hey guys. I spent an hour or so with the heli and got it to dance, or a flat disc after many adjustments. it took 2.5 turns up on the right servo and 1.5 down turns on the left servo. Next I need to add some gain into the 3 in 1 as the torque is turning the heli with no tail support. There is no way my buddy was going to be able to fly this without going through these adjustments. He's only been flying for 2 yrs and is not a serious tech guy. For me this is fun, figuring out what the hello is wrong, I don't think that was his goal with the heli. I think he just wanted to fly it. I should add that I started flying 3 years ago, but started with aeroaces, and the mod'd the aces and hacked the controller. He actually has more time in hobby.

If it sounds like I have gone overboard, please let me know. The end game is to fly the heli. I think I just about got it zero'd tonight.

Crash, I hope I like the radio. I have to go to bid extreme and get another tx lipo, and think about getting a nice case. Since I use the optic 6 nearly everyday it annoys me to buy a case, but that is better than a radio failure at 500' in a screaming dive.

Tim

It sounds like you have the right idea, Tim. Most heli fun is done right on the work bench tuning and repairing. If you don't like do those things it can be a challenging hobby. Keep up the good work and press on I've been to the point where I wanted to throw my Tx. A week later I'd be happy as heck with it. Don't ever get discouraged.

God Bless!

Jay

Tim ~

Congratulations on your achievements. Little by little, it all counts. Keep pushing like your doing, you'll get there. Just wait til ya try a belt driven heli.... You'll blow your socks off in total amazement in how much easier it is. I can hover my CPP's and do barely a circuit in the yard, if that, barely forward flight, and with the Trex, I can fly it all over with more control and stability...Go figure...The thing is with the CPP, is it is your learning tool as you'll need all that for the future anyway, so your doing great !

Don't forget not to be shy with the videos of your progress....

Take care,

Jeff

Ignorant question. I plan on adding 1/4 turn gain. Does this sound like too much? The manual is vague about this subject.

Yup......turn it in the desired direction a hair at a time...very small increments until you get what you need.

Just an update on my troubles. This morning I drilled the JB weld out of the pinion and very carefully installed a set-screw. Believe it or not....it worked! I was able to add a spacer in place of the missing washer and E clip so now the pinion holds the motor together. It should be alright this way, I really looked over everything to make sure it would work. I took it out this morning and flew it for 5 minutes with no problems, although I think my TP 1320 is starting to turn bad. 13c just isn't enough and I can't believe E-Sky sends a 10c LiPo. I get that one smoking hot

I hope everyone has a great day filled with flight

God Bless Y'all,

Jay

DEAR VIC ;

if Rusty does not respond to my request to fix the problem with the CNC gear that he installed : do you think it would
be OK to just revert to putting in the REGULAR gear..... after all, you removed one of the CNC and put the original
back ( in the White HBK-2) do you remember that ?
Is it TOO COMPLICATED to do that ?
I have asked him (twice) the either send me the grub screws, tell me what size they are, or even buy the CNC again
but he does not list that particular gear in the SITE..

?

Here is a Vid kinda "old" now but still useful. This one is the last of the series and is all about 4n1 gyro gain/proportional adjustments. Might wanna check out the others aslo they got some good info in them.
