WOW!!!Welcome everyone!!! Still sore so I can't do much. Even had to have my kid change oil on the car. After putting a new 370 9T on mine, all a sudden, having probs with gain and prop in this new 4-1. I absolutely cannot get it set and it won't hold the tail. Got to do some investigating because I've never had this problem before. I know the main and tail motors are good...they're brand new. The problem developed "suddenly", indicating possibly the 4-1 dumped...but I've got a backup to check my theory. Having a bad heli day. Again...welcome all! All the noobs...track the history of the thread so you don't make the same mistakes I did, it'll save you some grief and $$$.

Tried to U/L avi...won't let me even on the RCU site. Don't know what's up with that. Tried changing the tail motor first (cheaper to replace). No good...didn't really work. Threw in my old 4-1 which I knew was working when I took it off...it worked, put it right up into a hover with no problems and the new 370 9T cleared up most of the other problems from before (yo-yo, tail whipping, etc). I'm not 100% sure that new 4-1 took a dump but I got my tail back changing it out. The tail problems developed real sudden and loss of gain and proportional were about immediate as if the tail motor was bad. I got it flying, but I'll check the other stuff tomorrow to verify a bad 4-1. That's an expensive componet to have just quit having it on for just two days.

morning everyone!
great to see people helping each other for a change in this mess of socioty!

Dave-the gym thing is a mabey and only until its torn down--no heat or lights and 30 miles away.hope to hace copter fixexed and set(tracked ect)soon enough to use it.

i think that taking the training gear off lightened the thing so it required less collective and had less torque type reaction?

definatly going to slow controls down at servo arm all the way--hopefuly it wont cause geometry problems in linkage.
then i can move out a hole at a time as i get better.
need to make a better way to attach servo so they can be accessed easier for these adjustments.any ideas?

time to study on links Dave posted for me

What are Radds?

hope im not hijacking this thread?just jumping on the wagon to learn and help if i can!

thanks guys
David

Super........... glad to have you on board, this thread was started for just this reason. So that everyone could come in, swap lies and tell thier stories. Just by chance, it also turned out to be a great place to gather some great info and ideas in order to help us n00bs get our blades hovering and eventually progress to forward outdoor flight! I won't even say the "3D" word yet.
RADDS is a method of learning your helicopter by progressing in very small.........but quite useful steps. Almost every accomplished heli pilot has gone thru....or studied it. You will never go wrong studying it. and at a minimum........ use the techniques to advance your learning and also to learn how your heli reacts to certain stick inputs.
Also....bookmark that bladecpreapir.com site....... I use it everytime i tear mine down.
Didn't get a chance to hover last nite......got home from job site about 10PM so ended up falling asleep watching TV. Have to go to another jobsite today and finish up that one so will prolly not be getting a chance to work on mine till Tuesday at the earliest.

BTW.......... nice photos Dave and lookyj. I am so thinking I have to have that CNC Main and steel shaft. After seeing how beefy that looks on yours looky, I am convinced.

Good luck in the gym that's 30 miles away...I've driven mine 53 miles to fly in a truck garage. Pretty good place except for a lube pit in the floor. I checked everything last night. It's acting like bad tail motors (x2). Anyone know of a higher quality #30 tail motor out there? Eflites seem to go bad too quickly. I think I got about 10 full charges on a brand new motor...now it's junk. I really doubt the lack of rpms to compensate the torque on the main motor is a 4-1 issue and the TX is doing what it's supposed to do.
