I have built and flown the model. I also wrote the review that was published in RC Report. I enjoyed the build. Three of us are co-owners of the model and all 3 enjoy flying it. There were some discrepancies between the plans, instructions, and parts in the cabane area. I followed the plans for the incidence angles and the model flies well. I also used my own method for jigging the model to install the cabanes. We have a Zenoah G-45 for power. It is best to coordinate rudder in turns. Model will loop, roll, and fly inverted--although none of these would get good scores at a pattern meet! I would not use more power than the G-45; we fly it agressively and have broken strut attachment fittings during flight on 3 or 4 occasions. I had an MS A-1 another guy built 15 or 20 years ago from the previous kit that flew with a Super Tigre 2500--just barely.
I would be happy to answer any specific questions you have.

Thanks for the info and i just finished building one and I installed a G 62 in mine with a large 24 x 6 prop. We still seem to be having issues with it flying correctly. To get the CG right i had to add some weight to the nose. Did you have any problems wih CG adjustments. It took a lot of up elevator to make it fly right the last time we flew it we are so close but not there just yet. We are going to take out some nose weight to see if that helps> I use the CG suggested on the plans.

HH,
I had to add weight to the tail to balance mine! I was not able to locate the wing on the cabanes per the plan side view because the cabane fitting bolt holes are 5/8" different than on the plans. So I moved the wing backwards from the plan location. To the best of my ability to balance on fingertips, my CG is at the same spot on the wing as per the plans. Note that the plan side view corresponds to a cross section at the cabane/wing intersection. Due to the wing sweep back this is different than at the centerline. I also did not use any down thrust in the firewall. Here again the plans are different from the instructions, and I followed the plans. I did a lot of trimming with the wing incidence too. When one of my partners first saw the model he was concerned that it looked like a lot of negative incidence on the wing. So we shimmed the leading edge up so that the bottom of the spars were equidistant from the top of the fuselage. That took 3/16" of shims under the front strut attachment point IIRC. Model trimmed in flight with lots of down elevator and ballooned out of turns and with throttle changes. I took the shims out 1/16 or 1/32 at a time until I got all of them out. Model now flies with neutral elevator trim and does not require trim with throttle changes. Do you have the downthrust in yours?

I was able to get the wing mounted exactly to plans and all my bolt holes line up as well. Therefore with the wing being set as per the plan we added about 3 pounds of weight to the nose. however, it appears to be too much so i now have eliminated 1 pound. We also noticed looking at the wing it seemed to be negative so we went and rechecked the incedance and added the thickness of one washer to get the incedance closer to zero and i also added about 1 and half degree postive in the horz stab as well when I built it. Hope that does not turn out to be a big mistake but according to a freind of mine who has designed a lot of RC planes said it should do better.

yes i have some down thrust in mine as well, So are you saying i should not have it in there on this plane

Is it possible to chat by phone i can email you my number etc

Huel,
I built mine with stab incidence per plans. I suspect it is zero, but don't have the plans here to check. See your PM for phone number.

We flew the Morane this weekend and made some minor adjustments and it now flies very well. We need to fly it a more to get it totally dailed in. I also flew it in some fairly gusty crosswinds and it flew ok as well. I appreicate you taking the time out share information with mel. I can see this plane will a lot of fun to fly and a challenge too
