Just picked up one of your Bobcats and I think the kit looks good. It seems it will come out a bit heavier then the 5.5 lbs it states on the box. My question is, what is the best motor to haul this thing around with, I hate underpowered dogs! I have a ys-63, but this plane seems to big and heavy to be very fast with this engine. Also FYI the box states that this ship comes retract ready and it's not.

Probably not a good idea to have a forum site dedicated to your company and products if you are too understaffed to respond to any questions.

The plane was never advertised w/ retract ready...it's a typo on the box, but never misleading on the website....here's a massive thread on RCU BOBCAT that would answer almost 110% of your questions...

there's also a review here review

Hope that helps!!!

I scored one of the orange/silver ones at the show for $120. I was really impressed with my mustang, but this thing is just incredible. Very nicely done airplane. Can't wait to get back to NY and start working on it.

Guys, could someone just post a quick list of anything important that needs to be done to the plane? I tried reading through some of the other threads but the info is really spread out and a bit confusing. One thing I've seen is to raise the nose up so it the AOA will be higher for easier takeoffs. Probably gonna put a .91 two stroke on it.

Raising the nose will make take off roll easier but landings will become bouncy and maybe tip-stally... Take the time to make a longer take off roll and get up to speed. It will rotate.

From the review I see they only use one 1/4X20 nylon screw to the wing on for each side. Do you think that is enough or do you two? I like the idea of removable wings. Also, one servo is okay for the the rudder and the elevator? any pics on how to do the rudder using one servo?

Thanks

Try this forum in RC Jets. It has about 131 pages of post related to the Bobcat 50. I've been reading this forum for days now and I'm only on page 82. I bought a Bobcat 50 that I'm putting together as well, this forum has a wealth of information.
