You might want to check out Arizona Model Aircrafters I hear they have or are making a 1/5 scale DR1 as an ARF (Almost Ready to Finish). It has about a 60" wingspan. .46 2-stroke powered. I went with the Balsa USA one. Its not all that much bigger plane as far as wingspan. (71"

I have sent three messages to NITROSTAFF1 and have heard nothing back. I see that he has posted on the forum lately. Anybody been able to contact him and find out what the deal is on this plane?

Try to locate Flair models. They have one in around 1\5 scale. It is a very good plane from what I hear. I think they call it a Baronette.

dymond modelsports still has their dr1 arf for 200.00. it's the same one ripmax used to sell, just a different cover scheme. and polk hobby still offers theirs, which flies really well. i have both. got tired of waiting on nitro, especially when they show pictures of the complete kit, ready for mass production.

Look at the date when this plane was brought up by NITRO PLANES and the last time NITRO PLANES RESPONDED. UNFORTUNATELY I THINK IT'S A WASH.It's too bad because it looked pretty nice.I would have had to get one.

They have to build the same old Extras, Edges, and Yaks like everyone else.

yep, alot of us were looking forward to it, me especially, since i suggested it in that color scheme. i don't understand how they could show pics of the plane, saying it was ready for mass production, and then just forget it. i believe it would have been a great seller. too bad for nitro. got my dr1 from dymond modelsports.
