Ricardinho,
Look at your instruction manual, it shows how nice the stock muffler with an extension fits in the cowl.

you are right. thank you. my friend do you think a 14/8 wood prop would be ok with the os 91 fourstroke? props confuse all the time.

Again, read the manual. I would say a 14-6,7 or 13-8 are what you will see listed. A 15-6 would be the biggest I would ever put on a .91 four stroke. The 13-8 and 14-6 will spin right around 10,000, and 15-6 will have it lugged way down around 9,000.

Maidened my RV-4 today. What a doll. It jumps off the ground with 1/4 flaps. Flys so smooth, easier than my traner. Lands like a feather, I couldn't be happier. I have an O.S. 91 FS, it flys great with the 15-6 prop on it. I am also using ths stock muffler with a Hobbico exhaust deflector. Works great, sounds great. Did I say great to many times? I can't wait to get back tomorrow and ring it out a bit. I may go with a 14-7 later but 15-6 is good for now.
Great Planes did a wonderful job with this plane from start to finish. It is beautiful right out of the box. You can actually use all the stock gear and pushrods with this one. If I can keep it out of the trees, this one will give me many lazy Sunday afternoon flights for years.

BTW, I wasn't even going to fly it today. Planned on madening it tomorrow so I spent the day fine tuning the engine and the glow driver. Got it all put together and was doing some medium speed taxing down the runway. It was a bit windy so going into the wind it would try to lift off the ground. So finally I said if it wants to fly that bad I will let it and up she went............

Could you post some pictures of how you cut your cowl for the exhaust?

Me? The only thing I cut was the recommended 3 1/2"x2" out on the bottom of the cowl.

I stripped one of the engine mount bolts when I was installing the remote glow igniter. Any ideas on how to get it out?

as long as you didnt use red locktite you can put a pair of needle nose vise grips on the head and gently turn it out. remember the mount is plastic so there should not be that much resistance. take your time and be careful and you will get it out. let me know how you made out.

I was nose heavy with the G-20 up front but used the batterries to balance. No extra weight added to balance.

Wow, 3 oz.? I only had to put 1/2 oz. on the tail of mine to get it balanced. O.S. 91 Surpass up front.

Mine was a bit nose heavy with the OS 91FS but I placed the battery behind the servos and it balanced fine without adding any weight.

Worked great! I was trying with a regular pair of pliers and it would just slip, the vise grip pliers work perfect!

The kit flies great! I used a OS. 46AX. It looks like the same plane but with some mods. For example, the wing is in two pieces for transport. The kits wing in one piece.

This is not an aerobatic bird. She does good maneuvers but the design is limited. The bigger engines might be a waste.

NO SO! I have a DA-50 in my RV-4 and it does superbe aerobatics. Re-configure the flaps to ailerons and it will do anything you can do.
