It is not Tower. They will have the planes the same time anyone else will. They put out the best information available at the time. Sometimes, the information gets changed. They don't have control over that.

Please note that G-rod never gave an exact timeline. It was stated that kits are due in over the next two weeks. It also said that some are due in soon for quality-control purposes. Nobody stated for sure that there would be kits available to ship this week or next. When things come in from overseas, there can be unforseen delays in their arrival, due to delays in the ocean crossing, customs, in-country shipping, and so on.

I might also add that patience is a virtue. Who gets hurt if you cancel your backorder? Certainly not Tower... Why not get something else to occupy your time while you wait for the RV to arrive? You obviously want the thing, just think how happy you'll be when it finally arrives!

What servos are you guys using in this? I notice that the manual specifies 54 oz/in torque and most standard servos are only 45 to 47. I was thinking of using JR DS821 servos that have 72 oz/in of torque.

On my second look it seems they have mostly corrected the the tail shapes. But they still didn't get it right with the decal sheet. They did this with the smaller kit also. N-numbers cannot start with a zero! And to put a dash symbol between the N and the number? Fake, fake, fake! Drives me nuts.

I have a set of RV-4 full size plans and am building a full size RV-6. And yes an RV-4 is quite aerobatic. It's not an Extra 300 but it's aerobatic.

Great pictures Mr. Pettit. I am going to run out today and see if my local shop has one in stock.

Well, I went out yesterday (3/5) and sure enough, my local shop guys hadn't even heard of this model yet. They thought I was talking aout the 40 size kit. But they researched it and said they could get me one. They want to see it themselves.

It looks like a great value considering it comes with the pre-painted fiberglass parts, fuel tank, wheels, tailwheel assembly and the aluminum spinner already.

Motorman,

Still contemplating between this ARF and the Super Skybolt, let us know how that Magnum performs.
I've never had the chance to see a .91RFS run yet but, what I've seen out of the smaller
.30 size Magnum 4-strokes, it should be pretty good and the price (as of now) can't be beat.

Thanks,
Cliff

GP-ROD,

BTW, what is the airfoil? Is it an S8036 like the kit? I've been trying to
get an answer here for a while. Semi or fully symmetrical?

Thanks,
Cliff

Based on the photos in the manual (available on-line) it appears to be semi-symmetrical.

Thanks George,

That's what I sort of suspected. I guess you guys
wanted this model to fly true to or close to scale.

Again, great job by GP and congrats to those that
own or is getting one. I hope I see one at the field soon
as it is always sort of a race to be the first with the interesting
stuff.

I guess I am the first to post pic's other than Dick Petit. The kit looks awesome. I think this is the best ARF GP has ever put out. The level of detail and the building steps which have been eliminated is very cool, like the wheel pants which allready have the plywood plate and blind nuts installed is awesome. The whole landing gear just bolts together "no drilling". The only problem I see with mine is the fact that the wing tube was just flopping around in the box under the fuse not fastened to anything and it put a pretty good dent in the hatch "I think I can steam it out", and the same wing rib is missing a little piece in both wings. That fix looks pretty simple since the hatch is directly above it. Otherwise the plane is the really cool. The white matches perfectly, the picture's are showing up crappy. I also just happen to have a brandnew lightened Trueturn 3-1/4" spinner sitting on the shelf. I plan on starting it this weekend and will post building pics as I go. First I have to put an engine back in my Shoestring.
