Status: offline 		There ARE NO American manufacturers to speak of.

And the ones that are out there charge a pretty penny and their quality is no better that the ones from overseas, for the most part.

Status: offline 		It flys great, typical RV-4 aerobatics plus knife edge, etc.

Plenty of power from OS .91 Surpass.

No need for a larger engine at all.

10.5 pounds dry.

Online review coming within 2 weeks on another website that deals with "RC" things with "POWER" and is in "MAG"-azine format.

Can I say thet here?

It is a real cool idea, but are you going to cut the hole front off of the cowling. The carb will never clear. I am either putting in a Magnum .91RFS or .91XLS with a Bisson. I am not sure what to power it with, but at least I have a whole selection of Brand new Magnum (6 NIB) thanks to Hobby People and Tower's super sale prices.

Status: offline 		Well, I guell I'll find out when they get here. Already ordered so I am going to try it. I have a few ideas to try to make it fit. I'll let you know how I do.
If not, guess I'll just have to settle for a Saito 100! or a 125!

Status: offline 		J just finshed the engine installation in the "SHOE STRING" tonight, and layed out the RV-4 out on the bench and started to dry fit stuff. Tomorrow I will start the real construction. I hope to get the wings fitted and maybe the horitontal stab. I am never in a big hurry with any of my planes. This plane looks like it will go together pretty easy. I am just trying to find a scale pilot for it now. I am still hung up on what to power it with. I have several new Magnum .91's both 2 and 4 stroke. The distance the exhaust has to go to clear the bottom is quite far. The huge cowling swallows up the .91.

Really does look like high quality construction and going against a few opnions
here, I think the striping looks pretty nice.

Did GP include those aluminum spinners or were you just showing what you'll be using ?

GP does supply a 3-1/4" aluminum spinner, but the otherone you see is a Custom made Trueturn ($80.00). I had to order it special from Tureturn since the only way you can get a 3-1/4" is with a large gas cutout (20-6 Zinger) and the intended plane was a World Models Midget Mustang running a 12-8. The Midget is sidelined now as I am doing the RV first and will put the nice spinner on the RV and the GP on the Midget Mustang.

Status: offline 		Update, The wings anti rotaion pins are installed, and I did a once over with thin CA on the fuse. I will be doing the Horizontal stab tonight. I went over the entire airframe with a iron even though there were no wrinkles, the seams could be lifted with a fingernail very easily (needed more heat for a permanite bond).

Status: offline 		Horizontal stab is done, tomorrow night I will tackle the vertical stab and landing gear. Other than a few gussets and some triangle stock for the landing gear, the fuse will be stock. The landing gear rails are actually dove tailed into the firewall and the first bulhead, but because of the swept landing gear there is alot of leverage on the front joint. I have a hard time assembling ARF's because of my engineering background, I like to perfect everything. I am still undecided on a powerplant. The plane actually looks quite large sitting there on the bench. It will be one of my Magnum's though, I just don't know if I want to run a 4 or 2 stroke in this one.
