I dont know on the Slimline and DA but a MTW canister & Header vs Bisson Custom Pitts Muffler for my MVVS 45 was 9 1/2 oz's for the Pitts and 12 1/2 oz's for the MTW canister setup.

Charrua,

I was doing a lot of down on the deck stuff with mine before it got a little too down. That was my fault. The palne is absolutely predictable in any attitude and responds instantly and positively to control inputs. had it not been for the Version II of the Edge I would have never gotten down to where I could make the dirt move. You get extremely comfortable with the plane very quickly. If you have a solid engine you have a bullet proof combination.

I trashed my V-II but liked it so much I got another. It's the favorite plane in my hanger right now and unless the 2.6 Yak is a super performer it will probably remain the favorite.

Only a pound? You'll make that with a hand behind your back. Remember those mods that the one person made in moving the stabs and making the rudder taller? Bless him but I can't remember his name. Those were incorporated in the new version to one degree or another and it truly made the plane soooo much sweeter to fly.

Question again about the same!!!

What kind/brand of Canister are you guys with the DA-50 are using and the Edge combo??
What's the rght staff to get that will work with the edge,,I see there's different headers and staff for the canisters and where to buy them???

I believe the one TBM sells for the 28% Wild Hare planes is 20" and you cut it. That's the one I used.

Well that one you are talking about is for the Stab,,the one for the Wings are 36'' and 1/32,, the old Wing tube I got it's 36'' even that's 3ft.

Keep it centered and it should be OK. With built-up wings the wing tube socket is supported better than with foam wings.

Your idea of extensions on each end to keep it centered is a good one.

If the CF tube fits in the V-2 Edge fus tube. You could center it there and use a hose clamp on the fus wing tube to keep it centered, and maybe use foam as a spacer in the wing.

My mistake, for some reason I was thinking stab tube. I also got the 36" and replaced both but used the wing stab tube as it is. I just centered it up and haven't had a problem with it. It fits really snug (not tight) in the socket. I'm sure it moves inside but it hasn't affected anything. This plane has really strong wings. If you read back through the thread I believe someone else did the same. My stock tube was 37 3/8" so the difference is negligable IMO.
