If I remember correctly there is (at work right now otherwise I'd go look for you).... and I think it's more of a balance issue as to the placement of your rudder servo. Both my 540 and a friend of mine have our rudder servo mounted up front with the pull pull setup. He has the da50 and I have the 53toc.... neither of us had balance issues. Very nice flying plane btw.

There are two servo locations on each side of the fuselage in the back by the stab. It's recommended to install the rudder servo last, to help you balance on the CG. My 2 elevator servo's are in the back. My rudder servo is under the hatch using a pull-pull setup. On my Edge 540 V2 with the DA 50-R, I had to put my two 6.0v receiver batteries up close to the firewall, and the ignition battery out on the engine box, to get the CG right.

Hay all. Is their a bay for the rudder servo under the elev servo? I think Im going to run 5955 back their, on the opposite side of the stock muffler for counter ballance. Just a idea, Im still very much learning, and dont mean to ask dumb questions. Placeing my order this wednesday, edge, DA ect. Very excited.

There is a place for a rear mounted rudder servo, but that will just make the slightly tail heavy situation worse.

Funflyer,

You may want to check the balance on the aircraft before you make the decision to put the rudder servo in the tail. You may end up having to add some weight up front to counter the effect on the CG placement.

I have the DL50 up in front and 5945 rudder servo in the fuse with pull pull and it is balancing almost perfect. I know the DA weight is a bit more, but the moment is so far back in the tail where that servo is being mounted that it may be difficult to counter act.

Good luck and lets us know how it works out.

Mike

I'm still flying my Edge whenever I can. It just gets better.
I did end up selling my WH YAK because I never flew it since I got the Edge.

I don't always have time to pack up my 28% and drive out to the field.
So I built a 2% that I can fly in my front yard.

Mine's getting close to being finished. I've got most of the trim work done and I put the base color on the turtledeck and cowling. I'll be installing a g-62 with electronic ignition from rc ignitions in arizona (did a fantastic job). I've found that if I rotate the engine just a little to the right, I won't have to cut any extra holes in the cowling to fit it, this also allows the exhaust header to flow straight back into the canister tunnel which will house my own muffler ( which is not done yet but I hope all goes well with it). My only concern is the uneven weight distibution but I'll put the rudder servo on the opposite side along with both battery packs so hopefully this will not be to much of an issue.
