hey " derek "... there's a slight edge for owners of the more popular kits available, such as the kyosho st-rr, mugen mbx5t, losi 8ight, ofna x1x-crt and the xray xt8. they have more aftermarket support and more exposure. so owning one of the aforementioned truggies will give you more options in terms of parts, upgrades and-or aftermarket support. i'm not sure why. perhaps their popularity stems from their history in the business. i mean, maybe they're bigger than cen or maybe they have a longer history or record in the business than cen. i don't know for sure though. it just seems as if there's more aftermarket and parts support for those brands. nonetheless, cen and other's offer decent support for the cen truggy. as a matter of fact, the most exciting upgrade to date has been the release of the " BCE " chassis for the cen truggy. the chassis is lighter than stock and supports "buggy-like" gear ratio's. check out truggyracers.com for pics and information regarding the new chassis conversion. the only other notable upgrade to date, is probably the use of the [front] kyosho st-rr truggy cvd's/axles. " trarena " from truggyracers.com tells us that his truck turns much sharper with the kyosho axles up front. i mention that b/c the cen truggy tends to push and turn a little wide. hopefully the kyosho axles are the solution as " trarena " has confirmed in his track tests. all in all, with the right driver/owner, the cen truggy is prolly' just as good as the rest of them. i was frustrated at first, but i think it was just " newbie-ness ", as there is a tremendous learning curve in this hobby. i mean, the ugly truth is that knowledge, talent, practice, patience, preparation, set up, consistency and a little luck/faith will determine your outcome and experience more than anything else. so, the cen truggy or the thunder tiger truggy? if you can, take a look at them, up close, at your local track or hobby store. preferably at the track. who knows, maybe someone will allow you to wheel theirs for a minute or two. if you take each one for a test drive, you'll definitely know which one you prefer. if not, again, if you can, take a look at the store... see if they'll let you see it open box. if nothing else, check out youtube or google video for footage of each truggy. i know there's cen truggy footage... i don't know about thunder tiger truggy footage. nonetheless, good luck with your purchase
