you must have one of the early arenas.... the problem was the lower arms were too long.... cen did fix the problem and made them about 3mm shorter.... any arms you order now will be from the new mould... hope that helps....

Can anyone point me somewhere to order new front and rear arms to prevent the driveshafts from popping out? I looked on cendirect.com but i cant find anything on that site....

here ya go big fella

youll have to make a hole if you wanna start it with the body on even if youre using a roto start or starter box to get the ignitor in. I just take the body off. I will probably convert it to a roto start set up soon.

Oh, and just as a side note, I raced my matrix for the 1st time tonight, and finished 2nd Not bad for a bone stock truck fresh off of break in.

Congratulations on your second place finish. The TR is an awesome truggy.

Took my TR out to race and drive for the first time this evening (besides running it up and down the street to tune). I just bought it last week. I jumped on the track, hit the first corner, the dogbone popped out! I was putting that in and in again as I made practice laps. On a nose down landing off a table top jump, like only 12 inches in the air, the left front dog bone popped out, the left front suspension arm broke, and I bent the turnbuckle (MX305). Depressing.... I hope it's not this fragile going forward. I wonder if I got an older one with the longer suspension arms? I got it directly from CEN...

Other than that, which is enough, the TR showed a lot of promise. I have a few areas to work on. I need to replace the steering servo with something stronger. The NovaRossi I put in is bogging off the bottom (may be the tune or the clutch) but holding it's own on the straights.

I was hoping to take it to Revelation raceway over the 4th. Plus it looks like Tower is out of the turnbuckles. Where are you guys getting your parts?

.i bent the turnbuckles on mine too and didnt realize it until friday. i went to www.cenracingdirect.com and ordered a new set, a spare set of steering knuckles (i have heard they are a bit fragile) and a transponder mount. they had it all in stock and shipped it all off the same day i ordered :-)

My truggy has the old style, longer, front swing arms. If I hadn't taken it to the track, wasted a day, tore it up, I wouldn't be mad.

I understand that modifications happen along the way - this is good. It wouldn't bother me if they sold me the truggy and said, "enclosed is a pair of the new swing arms." But the truth is, CEN doesn't know which versions they are selling. On my RC8, Associated at least had the sense to change the part number to mark and identify their changes.

PS: The transponder mount they sent me is MX092. Not a direct fit w/o modification. Also, no screws. Is yours the same?

mine is the same, but i dont see why it wouldnt work for you??? It does kind of stick out a bit on mine, so i may mock one up with a piece of lexan off a body.

My Matrix officially passed the abuse test on Tuesday and survived 10-15 feet jumps with no scratch except the wing mount. Whats with the design of this mount and is there anything stronger thats a direct bolt on or with slight mod. I noticed the Matrix buggy uses exact same design.
