hey tree, if you have no joy getting hold of Bill at truglife@gmail.com then contact him via pm at truggyracers.com

I have received 4 chassis's from him now and they have taken anywhere from 5 to 9 weeks to arrive - your patience will be rewarded when you use the product tho By the way i've just completed one with a 50T gear and i'm not sure if you could go any bigger - if you manage to use your 52T gear i'd be keen to know what mods you did if that's cool with you.

With the small gear conversion, the engine is moved closer to the center to account for the small gear. If you use the buggy radio tray, the throttle servo can be lowered about a centimeter or more. There is also less rotating mass because you are using less metal in the drive train. Also by using the angle braces on the chassis, a little more flex can be achieved to improve the handling of the truck. When running the small gear you will also need the hot bodies ring and pinion gears for the diffs. These are spiral cut and can make the drive train smoother.
Along with all of that, the over all weight of the truck is less.
So the small gear conversion, in essence, makes the truck faster around the track.

I have pm'd Bill a few time and e-mailed him twice. I haven't received a reply. I will continue to try to get a hold of him. I really want the BCE chassis upgrade.

I am currently using the 52T spur gear because that is about as small as I can go. I have tried a 50T but the gear mesh wasn't quite right so I went back to the 52T. I also have a 46T, 48Tspur gears, once I get my BCE chassis, I will try them all out to see which one gives me the performance I am looking for.

I use old fashioned horsepower to get them out. Usually at least one gets beat up or wrecked. Once one is out I use a socket and tap the other with a hammer and it pushes the second one out. I found that there are great deals on ebay for sealed bearings from Mugen or Hyper etc... Usually you can get 8 or 12 rubber sealed bearings for less then ten bucks.

This is the first I have heard of this. I have heard of some Losi 8ight owners blowing clutches and clutch bell bearings due to too much chassis flex.

I am trying to place an order for a BCE chassis too. I hope you get everything strightened out. Once you do could you please let us know what you did to correct the problem in case some of us new BCE chassis owners encounter the same problem. Thanks and good luck.

will keep you all posted ive got a funny feeling its the mugen 1.1 springs im using... as this is the first time ive used them... ive tried two different motors but both were running the mugen springs and both motors cooked the clutch....so im going to rebuild the clutch with some 1.0 springs and carbon shoes and go from there....fingers crossed LOL

okay im just about to give up on this BCE chassis.... i found some binding in the centre diff so i rebuilt a spare buggy diff i had and still the same problem i cant figure out why it would be melting clutch shoes.... does anybody know if when you convert to the small spur gear do you have to run buggy front/centre/rear diffs??? looking at the buggy centre and truggy centre diff they look exactly the same.... im just wondering if the front and rear diffs are the same between buggy and truggy and if not its a gearing issue or not......this is enough to drive a man to drink

adam, get my number from chris and call me if you need some help with the bce conversion. the buggy and truggy diffs are the same - have you used the hot bodies 43T ring and 10T pinion gears?
