The steel block with holes in it is 1"x2"x3" with lots of room to spare sitting on top of a square Nicad Rx battery. I also put a pic of my little foam block as it is in flight readiness. The kit comes with a really good foam block that isolates everything too. You should be in good shape.
Don has a little upgrade to the landing gear blocks I highly recomend.
1/16 (1/32 would work too I guess) ply x 3/4 square epoxied to the balsa block inside the fuse with hardwood brace running accross the width of the fuse. I am sure he has a pic and better explanation of how to do it.

You should be good to go. The plane flies very good as a sport flier.
