Hi guys I believe that I have seen this plane ie, Summit 2000. for sale twice now in the last little while on this forum. I believe that FLYINRAZORBACK had this plane and sold it so you may want to ask him about it. thanks Dave

Both Levett and patternjunky are correct. I made an error on the wood fuse and yes it's been for sale by flyingrazorback. The second owner has decided to focus on 3D and Imac and won't be flying pattern this year. That's why its for sale.

Does anyone have any further comment on the Pursuit? I really like it's look, but I also like the looks of the Summit 2000. Besides, yellow is "my color" for planes. gv

Heck, give the Summit 2000 a try then. It does look nice. and it may be a great performer. I did not by no means want to try to talk you out of it. I like the looks of it anyway. I just did not want to put forward the impression that I knew anything about the performance characteristics of the2000 version of the Summit.

and, the wood fuse is a plus in my book. If you note my webpage below, you will see I devote most of my time to balsa assemblies.
I like balsa fuses. period. I did buy a Ricochet this year( very nice kit) but when it came time to paint it, Scott Dunphy let me in on the prototype plans of his Titan, and the Ricochet went on the back burner. I have since sold the Ricochet to a local pattern flier, and we are test flying it today. 67 degrees, light wind, and sunny. I love February.

But as far as wood fuses go, they are IMHO the true Cadillac of aircraft. They are Sound dampening instead of sound enhancing, easier to repair than glass, and its great to fun shape and build your own goodies anyway.

I hope you saw my separate post on the Pursuit. I love the looks of that plane, and the Piedmont Models Temptation, though it's out of my price range, is very nice looking also.

I have found a Summit 120 (Ivan Christiansons design) that was built by a professional aircraft builder. It's about 7 years old though. I'm waiting for photos which should arrive later this afternoon. That and it's a short drive to pick it up and it's less than $200! I'll probably get that one (assuming it's in good condition) just because of the cost. Then I can buy another model later while I'm practicing with the S-120.

Hi Guys I also did not want to persuade you in any direction regarding the purchase of the Summit it does look like a well put together airframe and the original owner seems to be very knowledgable by the posts that I have seen . good luck with your decision and with competition this season. Dave

Levett, do you have a web site address for Precision Aero Composites? I can't find it using netscape search. Also, I've quizzed Dick Hanson on prices of his kits and I'm awaiting his answers. TIA gv

gavoss,

Assuming good condition, thats quite the bargain.
We went and tested an old airplane today. A Malibu.
Fairly older design. Plane built probably 6 yrs ago.
Range checked it, tuned the needle inon the YS 120 , and away we went.
Nice plane.

I found Precision Aero Composite's web site and looked at the Omen and Odyssey. I like the looks of them, and the price was just a little higher than I planned on spending. I've sent them an email to ask about powering them with the 120NC. Hopefully I'll get a response tomorrow.

My guess is the Hydeout, Prophecy and Prodigy would be better since they have slightly smaller wing spans, 74" vs 78" and less squares, roughly 120-175, but I haven't found a good photo of them to make a decision yet. I'll keep looking.

BTW, Charlie Reed built the Summit 120. I'm told he's one of the oldest and best pattern builder around. The Summit 120 owner and I have agreed on a price, and I'm waiting to verify the condition of the plane via photographs. We are only 170 mile apart and we can meet in the middle. That should work for me.

With the low price, I can be practicing while waiting to gather funds for a new kit.

You guys have been most helpful, thanks. gv
