Hey redfox03 if you follow my instructions a couple posts up you should be
in good shape. Keep all shims in place till you reach 3/4 a gallon ect. Linkadrip
is correct in that the shims are in place to lower compression for break in. Hope this helps!

Status: offline 		I had good luck with my STS 28's in my savage. I'm going to try out the D21T in my MBX5T, the sleeve is a work of art for a 180 engine:

Status: offline 		you will like the T i'm going to put one in the 8ight-T whenever it comes out , i have been running the 8ight with the D21T , it easily hangs with the expensive italian mills at the track...i love the engine...very impressive so far at $180,-

Status: offline 		is the sts good for bashing and occasionall racing in a savage. I am putting in the 3 speed already have a steel spur and am going to be running stock size tires.

Status: offline 		how many head shims should i remove on my .28?? theres the 2 copper on (1 thin and 1 small), and a siver shim.. ... i am about 3/4 of a tank through.. give or take some and runing 25% nitro..

Status: offline 		I have 2 RB modded STS D21T's on order. I plan to run it with the STS pipe on my 8ight, I will report the performance as soon as they some in. So far, Mark at stsmicroengines.com has been great to deal with.

What are the temps, what fuel are you running and how much fuel do you have through it?

What are the temps? 300degrees F plus?

Have you RTV seald the engine? Replaced all fuel lines? Replaced the tank?

If attacking all the possible air leaks does not help, check your tuning. Also, use the correct plug for the nitro % you are using.

If all else fails, inspect your carb thoroughly. If the carb is faulty, call STS and ask them to replace it, STS sometimes lets a few bad carbs slip out since they have large machining tolerances when it comes to the carb.

Status: offline 		I should also add check the head shims. Make sure you have ALL three there, a silver and 2 coppers.

Basically, when all the possible air leak problems have been addressed but the engine still runs away, their is another air leak that cannot be corrected no matter how much RTV you throw at the engine. Usually, it is the carb at fault. The LSN on STS big blocks is usually the culprit. If you did all the air leak remedies and you still have to richen the LSH to where it is almost falling out, it is for sure at fault.

Status: online 		Imo, for the price STS is THE best brand of engine. For a $130 engine, no .28-.32 comes close in performance despite costing much more. And the .30 can still hang with the Nova .28's and such. Nothing but good experiences with mine, great product! I cant wait to remove the shims
