I've ran both engines you asked about. They are good engines. Stop worrying about all the past STS issues and fire the engines up. Start racing and having fun.

Here's the crank they so on STS's site

It has some black on it.

Is your engine new or has it been used? If its used it could be from oil burning and leaving black stuff behind.

c'mon, its like a $100 motor, just fire it up, break it in and drive it, stop worrying about matching colors. if its a dud a new crank is like $40.

I wouldnt concern myself with the color of the internals as long as it ran well. By the way I don't think you have the wrong crank...Maybe the engines have black cranks in asia...not uncommon for a manufacturer to produce a little different product for different regions. If your really that worried about it, send it to me, I'll start it.

That's funny, then you'll say "you didn't want it back did you?"

actually yeah i would send the big mac back. i probally will keep the motor , i gues you get what you pay for. maybe i should of got a hyper 21 8 port race 2.7 h.p 38000 rpm. just kidding . its just that this is my first sts motor and i am kind of dissapointed. i got from rc mall in hong kong. the sts home is in tawain so it should be same parts. i was gonna get the new sts s21t because my brother just got the nwer hobao hyper 21 8 port race and my sts d28 pro 5 port will smoke him so i wanted to get the s21t to compare the 21. but why would i buy another sts when they show the motors on sts website and you get a motor with different crank than shown. but i guess ill use the sts d28 pro 5 port and next time ill by different brand. my dad and brother loked up there os. hobao, xtm , picco, traxiss 3.3,even the cheap power racing motor. anyways they looked up these motors online and what they show is what tou get in the motors.my dad told me to get different motor but i wanted a sleeper no one really heard of . maybe he was rite. im not whining just whish i got what i paid for . i wish they would show the rite stuff online. the cheeper sts motors come with all blsck crank mine suppost to have all polished crank on sts website not the cheep black one in the eco motors. if im wrong let me know.i would love to buy another sts but this discouraged me kind of . say something to make me feel more confident with sts motors.any real info would help thax
