I am getting a 450 SE on wednesday from my LHS. How do I tell if it is a V2 (that i hear has updates) and not a V1? Do they even have V1 kits still on the market?

On a different note, I am looking at buying a spektrum 6100 receiver for my DX7 radio to run on the Trex. Do I need to buy the smaller parkflyer receiver? The stock 7 channel receiver (7000?) looks pretty small but it is bigger than the 6100. Can the Trex handle the bigger stock receiver with its two components?

Yes, there are still version 1's out there. And yes, you can use the 7000 rx on the trex. I have it on my Trex 450HDE. I put the main rx on the bottom rear, and the telebee gyro in front of it, the small rx is on the left side of my heli pretty much beside the motor.

I use the AR6000 in mine it is much smaller, fits nice! AR6000 / AR6100 both have over 5000 feet range on the ground, so this is not a problem...

The tail rotor hub is a main thing from what I understand V1 vs. V2...

The tail rotor center hub with the set screw that holds it to the shaft is silver. The V2 has two grooves that run around each end of this hub, V1 is a smooth hub with no grooves...

The tail shaft gear is aluminum as well, V1 was a black plastic gear for the belt...

Thanks for the help. I will check the kits for the aluminum drive gear on the tail shaft to get the V2. That is just incase the box doesn't have a label with the info.

I will have to check the distance i am looking to fly. Sounds like i can use either rx. I was looking to bug the neighbors by flying thru their yard but they are on a different acreage and a good field away (1000ft?). My CX couldn't make the trip unless it had a tail wind both ways

It would get so small you would lose orientation anyways...
