Hay Guys.
I pray one of you is able to pick up and do a build along with this kit. I'm leaving for my vacation and Thailand to get some dental work done. I'm headed to Asia and will be gone until June. So some one do us the honor and build this beast and fly her for all of us. Once I am back...I'll pick up and build the kit, but that wont be until early summer.
Soft landings always,
Bobby of Maui

Hay Kmot,
I am departing Hawaii in March and right now...I'm finishing the rebuild of my lower floor from the flood damage done last year. I was insured, but FEMA handed out only enough funds to do the work myself. The price of goods to repair one's home has gone through the roof here in Hawaii...and though I'm quite handy...I've had to curtail all other work to finish my home before my vacation. FEMA (may the flies of 1000 camels infest their private parts) gets their price list for home repair goods out of a 1950's catalog. About the only things that have remained stable has been my hobby, but I'm so far behind my home remodel...the "Honey-do-List" is a yard long...and strangly never seems to get shorter no matter how much I do. But I promised myself that the "Honey-do-List" can go fly a kite when we get back from vacation. And I'm gonna remodel my hobby shop and build a few models...that are long over due for a build. If no one has build the C-119 by the time I get home...I will make it my first build.

Soft Landings Always,
Bobby of Maui

Bobby of Maui,
I hope your dental work goes well and you have a great vacation. Home repairs/honey do's I understand!! I've been trying to maintain the "fleet" this winter, and I hope to have three planes ready to fly this spring ( GP Ultimate Biplane 40, Telemaster 40 and a GP Extra 300S 40).

We're going to Beijing this spring, last week in March and the first week in April. I don't have the C-119 on my list, now, but would love to see a build. How far is Thailand from Beijing? Any goood hobby shops in Beijing? Just thought I'd ask.

Kmot, Thanks for your interest and information on the C-119. This plane will always have a place in my heart - the plane and the men who flew in them... Makes me proud to be an American.

I saw the C-119 at the AMA convention in Ontario CA in Mid January. It is ARF, wood and iron on covering. Looks pretty good. They also had the Boulton Paul Defiant and a Martin AM-1 Mauler. The Defiant and the Mauler come with mechanical retracts and the Mauler comes with a centerline drop tank ?( Missle?) and 8 air to ground wing mount rockets. I am building the Mauler now.

Hay Oly,
I ended up going with RJL (Cox/K&B) Conquest .15's. I have both the Fox .15 and K&B .18's...they all fit, but the ABC version of the Conquest .15 is as powerful as any .25 I ever witnessed. It weighs out at 6.3 oz. and will fit the nacelles...Perry carbs come with the engine. I just ordered from MECOA...so I'm not sure when the engines will arrive...they show a back order for the engines. I am going with dual main and nose gears per scale and really easy to do. I may need to beef up the main landing gear blocks too...but that is not unusual in many ARF models.

I'm going with small lite weight servo's and running two P/P (pull-pull) servo's for the elevator, one in each pod, and two for the Rudders. The kit calls for only one servo for the elevator, the servo then pushes two rods that drive the elevator (I don't like "Pushing-Up for eleveator control). Even with the extra servo, P/P will be lighter and simplify the instilation. Running two rods out of the aft plastic main fuse fairing will be a delicate operation at best.

I'm going to make up light fiberglass foward and rear fuse fairings and do away with the thin plastic. The plastic will not last...and who ever can count on spare parts being puchased on an ARF. So I will need to learn how to do make fiberglass fairings with this model. I've the origonal parts, and they are in great condition to make molds from.

I will now have nine servo's in this kit...but if I go with good light weight servo's...I will still be lighter then going with eight standard size servo's.

I really am getting motivated with this model....

Soft landings,
Bobby of Maui

I just got my Boxer the other day and the Defiant too, started the Defiant tonight cause it will go together faster and will use either a S.T. 90 or a 91 four stroke in it.

I'm going to do the Boxer as a volter due to the narrow cowls and all the thin plastic parts, I have about fifty flights on my Urovitvh OV-10 Bronco and Hobbico Twin Star with Axi 28-20, 10 brushless motors and the thin plastic cowls and covers look like new as dose the covering due to lack of oily exhaust.

I want to do the landing gear a little more scale like on the Boxer, shorten the gear and do duel tires all around.

I purchased the Se5a ARF by Flyboy Models at eBay auction fom mkland0124. However, I also purchased the Aero Subaru by GK Models (Taiwan ARF) at eBay auction from mkland0124. This makes it tough to really know what you are buying, but the Aero Subaru lasted 25 flights before the coming apart, also weak landing gear.

I want to buy the C-119 (prefer AC-119K Stinger), but would want to go electric power and twin engines are new for me.

Bobby,
Can you let us know what she weighs ready to fly? ( the C-119 )
I think lust is about to get me -
Did a few jumps from these things -
At a cross road - fuel -or electric
Have a couple motors that will pull 32 ounces of thrust, and also a pair of .25 2 strokes.

Hay Lem,
I'm going with gas...and before I left for vacation...I ordered two conquest .15's...and then changed the order to two K&B 18's. After playing with the kit for a while...I decided to keep this model as light as I could. And I don't know squat about electrics...just a bit about nitro two strokes. I have run the K&B .18...and though not the most powerful of engines in it's class...it is stronger then the Conquest .15's and why I changed my order from MOCEA, just before I left for Asia.

I'm still in Thailand. I arrived here on the 7th of March...three day's later, I ended up in the hospital with the worst case of the flue I ever had. A week later I went down to Puket to recover and get into some air I can breath. Maui has such good air...but BKK air sucks. It was worse up north, so went down south. It took a month to recover...and I am up north in Chiang Mai, finishing my dental work. As soon as it's finished...I'm heading to Manila, and then over to Southern China. I will be in Manila for just a week or so...then over to China. I'm due back in Maui by June 4th.

By the way...where can I look up Chinese made kits in China!

Then...my good buddy...this kit will be built !

I saw where they had a real sale on the kit...did you get one then, or like me...pay the full price.

Soft landings always,
Bobby of Maui
