I have 3 x HB-56 in my TRex cyclic. I have had two crashes where at least one of my servos were damaged. Gear replacements have been easy enough but I now have two servos that when I power up without gears inserted I find that the little metal gear that goes down into the motor of the servo is continuously running.
Is this servo dead or is this a fault that can be rectified?

I'm updating my post because I found the answer myself and thought it might help someone else in the future. The metal gear inside the case seems to need resistance to centre. I installed a new gear set and found that the servo work just fine again.
