Maarten, I don't know how many hours I spent on the ASK8, all I know is that I started in August 2001 and had it ready Februeary 2002. Bur I didn't work on it continously, sometimes a week or 10 days passed without me working on it. Still, it is a lot of work, but the design of the kit is very good, it is easy to build, and the plans and instructions are very good. All in all, I enjoyed building it, and am waiting for Flair to come out with another glider of this type. I have been in contact with Richard Smart, Flair's director for sales and marketing, and he tells me that they are thinking about bringing out a 1/4 scale kit of a 2-seat glider, something like the ASK-13 or Bergfalke IV. There is no such thing as an ASK27, I'm sure you mean the ASW 27. The denomination ASK stands for Alexander Schleicher and Rudolf Kaiser, who was the designer for the Schleicher factory in the 50's and 60's. If I am not mistaken, his last design was the ASK18. The "W" designs (the "W" stands for Waibel, the designer) started with the ASW 15. The ASW 27 and 28 are the latest in a long line of successfull designs from Waibel. Just for info, Michael

MZ, Roedelmodell ( www.roedelmodell.de ) has a kit of the Ka6 with 3.2 m wingspan . Kit features GRP fuselage and is available with built-up wings from CNC-router-cut parts or ARF (foam/obeeche) wing. Another Ka6 with 3.85 m wingspan is available from MKR Modellbau ( www.m-k-o.de ) , aslo GRP fuse and CNC-router-cut parts for wings and tails. As to the Flair ASK8, I just finished mine, and you are right, it is a lot of work, but it is well worth it ! Also, the kit is very well designed and builds very easy. And the price is hard to beat.
