hey got my volcano stx at christmas and i have fitted loads of things on it but could i fitt better engine or a bigger size engine like 21.-and what better upgrade shox could i have.

put an os .18 cvrx in it, its like $100 and its much more powerful than the stock one, its the one blue posted. i have 1 in my hpi and tmaxx, its a great engine. easy to tune and start.

have you ever put fail safe on a volcano stx cos thinking of getting one but probibely would not fit in radio gear box

no 3 speed for the volcano
but you could do 2 speed just need the 2 speed tranny and upgraded clutch bell so it doesnt bog out on startup

the gearing on the redcat 2 speeds is too high, the tornado has small wheels. the volcano has nice snap as it is

you would probably have a hard time routing the exhaust, i dont know if you would have the room behind the engine.
