Sorry for the slow response. Put a O.S. 55 in it with a 11x5 prop. Took off first time hairy still at lauch wanting to tip stall. Flew great and landed great on the next takeoff tip stalled and busted up the front pretty good, decided to bench the plane. Took out the engine and electronice put them in my new Pulse 40 and been flying great very fast plane and alot of fun. I just bought another raptor fuse and wings nothing else off guy at the airfield for 60 bucks thinking of puting a 61 in it and do the up thrust thing. But now im thinking of selling it on Ebay and geting me a bobcat i do like those and they seem to fly alot better. I dont like a plane where im not sure everytime that it will takeoff at launch. My other planes i know will take off no sweat, the raptor is iffy. I like the plane how it flys and looks but not worth all the work and money invest in if if you never know if its going to tip stall. We will see.

Dude takeoff is the easy part. I never had trouble there. Its landing the b|tc# that's been giving me gray hairs, but no more! I am now getting landings good enough to post on YouTube!

Well, here I am tipping over during warm-ups on the first run today:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_U8hdyF0amE

But that's not a launch problem. That's me giving one too many Idle-to-WOT tests and running out of runway!!!

Ok, this is how the last vid should have ended, with a nice throttle-up, rotation, and liftoff.

http://tinyurl.com/5o369j

BTW: Liftoffs are cleaner now that I have balanced the plane laterally.

And now, ta da! The main goal of today's sorties - to capture a good landing on video!!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hfURaNSQA_8

Yaaay!!

Note the use of the Power Panel. I really like this gizmo. I really liked it when I tested the HAN3011 plug and found a nice glow level at 3 Amps, right in the narrow Green Zone on the amp meter. I can now confidently run the motor up while leaving the plug connected, knowing it won't overheat. If the current changes without changing the dial setting, its probably a plug ready to die.

Its also cool because the starter and the electric fuel pump plugs right into it and that has a reversing switch for Fuel/Drain. Sweet!

Oh BTW while I was doing my thing on YouTube I found the Nami guy that took his F-22 and electrified it. Very impressive - quiet and powerful. But, probably he is using big expensive LiPos, needing a big expensive charger. I'm good with the noisy, oily, smelly mess of NITRO for now. muhuhahahahaaa

Nice landing. Congratulations.

One suggestion.......you might want to reconsider your positioning when starting the airplane. As you crouch there next to the plane the blade seems to be centered on a line that bisects your knees. Losing a blade while crouched there could be painful indeed. Kneeling in front might be a better approach, then move behind to remove the glow starter after the engine is running.

If there is one thing I hate about the whole deal its having to straddle the prop! When I balance the prop, I flex it and check for defects. So far, all my APC props have been rock solid.

I still worry about that, but is there any real danger? These APC props are made of glass reinforced nylon. Very tough. I have heard of wooden blades flying during startups and warmups, but not these APCs.

In any case, your arm, at least, must cross the plane of the prop rotation during startup. After that, we'll have to be more mindful of not being in the way again, thanks.

Oh btw, I noticed an improvement going to an APC 10 x 7. Before, I had a 10x6, and it needed about 3/4 throttle or more to cruise comfortably without sinking. Now, just a little over half throttle and I can casually cruise the whole tank. Engine is Evo .52. Top end seems better too.

FREAKN AWSOME what do you have in that bird it was screamin? In my opinion for a big box it flew really nice cant wait till next summer to maiden mine. This bird gets such a bad rap but with the right setup and pilot it looks very nice in the air to bad its to hard to get retracks on this plane would really make it look PRETTIER in the air.Right now Im getting as much time as I can with my Parkzone J3 and my Parkzone P51 before I even try this plane.

hey Bigmann292

if possible can you get a good sim realflight 4 or 3.5 worth the money both are nice fs one is nice fewer planes though
also may try a striker f27c as a next step you are very smart to wait to improve your skills (your very wise)
I had to learn the hard way

4 years of flying now this is the first year I do not bang the sticks thanks to the f22 and growing up

Hello ya I have the Realflight 3.5 and I have the FS1 solo that came with my Raptor.I really like the FS1 better for some reason I can fly and land NO PROBLEM , but when I use the Real Flight 3.5 I have a hard time landing(maybe depth perception) But when I fly My Parkzone J3 and the Parkzone Spitfire at the field no problem at all flys nice and can land pretty close to where I want to be The only problem I have with flyn these 2 planes is the WIND it has to be almost dead calm out to fly these planes lucky for me where I fly is only 5 min. from my house. And I think thats my problem sometimes I over react or slappn the sticks but practice makes perfect and Im more than happy to do as much practice as allowed by the boss (wife).I do have to say this hobby is very addictive and fun I happy I found flyn

realflight 3.5 is good I use the fun fly field on that try the F4 with that ,basic but you get the idea of the flight of the f22 on a sim Fsone is good also I like both myself + and - with both just keep practising keeps me from getting rusty

with wind the t28 can hold its own flew mine in 10 to 15 mph wind this week wanted to test out had ripped the wing off if our fun fly limbo (ouch ) 15 min easy repair flight ready
the striker 27c can handle alot of wind last year went up in 20+ mph winds they are lipo setups rtf something to thing about can toss in the back of the car also.
but don't let to planes in the car overnight somehow they increase in numbers and the BOSS says you have more than 30 planes I said I do not here i had 40
