I know I'm a speed addict, (look at my avatar) but do not have a fast airframe yet. However, I do have a YS 45 with tuned pipe ready for a home. I really like the F-20 look, which F-20 is the question? (you don't have to answer that)

So, Can I get a #?

Good choice... The Direct Connection F-20 seems to have quite a following on here*

Didn't I see one in the ARF's for sale section paintet like a MIG?

The YS-45 is one of the best most powerful motors you will ever own!

How about a Patriot or Lanier F-4?

the old 46 WXL version didnt stand a chance, we've clocked the West 50 Magnums at 175 on the flat, but have found a possible fault in the way we measured ( too slow ), will re do sometime soon and post the results.

I not sure about 200 but it is fast, may be racing a pylon racer this weekend. The pilot is Jonathan and he completes in racing and knows his plane does around 200. we will see who will win.

I have another of Kangke's aircraft, the Sport Cap 232, 60 sized. I know it's not a speed plane, but if the F-20 is put together as well as my cap, you would have one helluva plane there. Any idea of when the 60 sized F-20 from Kangke is going to be available? Also, do you think a Saito 100 would be able to make it go fast enough, if I propped it right, say 13x10 or an APC 13x12n?

The whiplash looks good! how do you like the Jett 50 and who's header and pipe are you using?Im thinking about using the same engine in a Shrike 40, but not sure it would fit in that plane.

On the test stand (which Dub urges you to use to break in your engine), the Jett 50 started right up and ran great. I've got 5, 14 ounce tanks of fuel run through it. It keeps on getting higher and higher RPM's and I'm still running rich.
8.8 x 8.5 APC D-1 Pylon prop, recommended by Dub for break in. I use his high-rise header and a MACS 1340(?) pipe purchased from Dub. He tells you where to cut the header for break-in. After that, its up to you to tune the pipe for the prop/RPM you are using.
The idle and transisiton are simply beautiful on this engine.
You can move the throttle stick open and closed as fast or slow as you want and stop anywhere inbetween with wonderful smoothness to the engine.
It is extremely loud! I have not had the dB meter on it yet, but am quite certain it won't pass at one of the fields that I fly at.
The McCoy 9 plug is working great.

Rudeboy,
I'm fortunate enough to belong to 3 R/C clubs, one of which has no noise limitations. That's where I'll fly the Whip.
The paint came out great - but it is heavy. I'm quite concerned about it, so I'm working on a catapult. Won't be ready to fly the Whip' until I get the cat' working just right. I plan on eventually going to the 8.8 x 9.75 D-1 that SydClement is using on his Whip', so with that high pitch and the extra weight of the aircraft, I think the catapult will be necessary.
I don't know the final weight yet, as I have to install the new JR 8411 servos and to the final balancing. I'll keep posting as I progress.
Did you check out the other photos in my Gallery here on RCU?
Which shot is your favorite?
~John

I like this picture...it shows a clean setup, and a good finish...

However, I would recommend the use of a fuel tank stopper...
I find that it has a great effect on fuel economy...:p:p:p:p
