I remember seeing a material from Japan that reacted to force. They put a knitted hat on a watermelon and hit it with a hammer - no damage. That might be a good material property for this application. Building cars like airplanes - who'd have thought...

I've been thinking of giving one of those 52cc engines a try as well Fokke. They are cheap enough that if the motor is junk I am not out a small fortune. The company that makes those engines also makes a 26cc.

You would be better off with a Moki 1.8 or 2.1 Rumen. The Super Tigres are a pain to get perfect in the midranges.

The Moki's are Hungarian motors and are very much stump pullers (meaning plenty of power to do anything you want), and are very easy to tune.

Yep, MOKI are great engines, as long as you can swallow the price tag - 1.8 is running for around $570...

Well, I got this prices from nearest dealer of Moki to Bulgaria - Romania. They list 1.8 for 1366 RON which translates to quoted price. I bet they can be found for much less in here.

Hello Rumen

For a fine engine for your Emil, you can do a search for the 35ccm glow from OS Max ( BGX ).
I have heard only good words about it .
It's light, powerfull ,not so expensive and IT'S AN OS MAX !!!

http://shop.lindinger.at/product_info.php?cPath=1130_1149&products_id=12408

Good luck!

JIMMY

Hi Rumen,

I agree w/ Jimmy on the OS BGX. I have one in my 190A, my buddy has one in his 190D, and I have a fresh new one waiting to put in my Aeronautica 109E when she's ready . They're very reliable, and it powers even my 26lb 190 pretty well, so it's got some hustle to it.....and it will fit in there pretty well from what I can make out on the plan set that I finally got printed out a couple months back. The build looks great as always.

Mike
