Evil ,what can I say...I make models from 10 years in my home ,but I like composite ,I don't like wood planes and I work with epoxi resine. It is more clean ,fast (when you have mould offcourse) and when I crash some model I can make it for 2-3 days
Now I have a new moud for acrobatik airplane Su-26 in 1/5 scale ,and w'll make this plane together with Bf-109

Fokke! I wish I knew you were doing the SU-26! I'm actually building one from wood right now, I got the wood kit from AKM Models here in the states. Its decent enough, but it takes some time to build. Plus its a little smaller than yours, with only a 53" wingspan

http://ak-models.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=AKM&Product_Code=AKM03&Category_Code=AKM_Laser_Kits

I've finished the fuse, the tails and one side of the wing so far.

This KIT is nice ,but the plane is veeeeeeeeeery nice ,you will see
My Su-26 is 61" wingspan ,I'ts little bigger from your ,is good akrobat
Offcours I must to work very hard on this mould ,because the surface is bad,but I'll make it like glass.
I think to build 2 planes ,ones with elektro motor ,and the other with 12 cc rusian engine MDS ,is nice engine .

This is topik for molud and plane

Fokke, I love my older MDS engine (.48 sized, I think thats like 8 or 9cc) runs like a champ.

In my Su-26 I'll be using a SuperTigre .52, its a bit much for it, but like you said, it will make a good acrobatic plane which is exactly what I want!

Too many people are doing the Su-29 & 31 and forget that the SU-26 started the whole thing way back in 1984, more than 20 years ago! Now the Red Bull races and such are massive showcases for the highly acrobatic stuff and makes it to normal TV here in the states.

Yes ,have Su-29 and 31 ,but I don't like the shape,Су 26 is more beautiful ( for me offcourse)
I don't know this engine 48 sized, maube is good ,but MDS 6,5 is not soo good ,because it is old fasion and the Carburator is bad .This 12cc MDS that I have is new generatinon and work very nice .

This is clean fuse. Next step will be to build the wings and to make a mold from them.

You could not ask for a nicer fit between the fuse and the wing center portion Fokke.

Great work!

Fokke, if you want any help with the Mig-3 let me know. I helped a kit builder redesign the Mig-3 they sell (1/5th scale as well). I love the Mig-3 and wish there were more of them out there, but not too many the ARF folks decide to market one. I think I've already said, but I have 5 Mig-3's of from a 1/12th scale up to a 103" wing span 1/4 scale.

You are REALLY making me jealous!

Yes, 5 Mig-3's.

I think the MiG-3 is the most underrated Russian plane of World War 2. If only it could have been used correctly, but the Germans didn't use heavy bombers or anything high altitude.

My big Mig-3 is a Romain Research MiG-3, the company is no longer in business, but I managed to find a fully cut kit and two sets of plans.
My 1/5th scale MiG-3 is by ImpScale (http://www.impscale.com/html/mig_3.html), which is the one I helped redesign and make more scale (the image they have is of the older design). The new one was redrawn using Russian build plans for the real Mig-3.

Here is my build thread: http://www.rcscalebuilder.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=7507&PN=1

I haven't done any work on it in a while as I've just been too busy with other smaller projects.

Fokke, the 109's I build are balsa and plywood, covered with fiberglass and resin before painting, I wish I had some one in the states to work with like yourself, me and a friend would like to build a P-51 about 104 inch wing span I am starting work on the drawings, and would like to make plans for the P-51D, P-51A and P-51B models for sale, it would be great if we had someone like you to make the plugs for the canopy and other parts, George.
