Nope, there is a lot of people here who have it, including myself. Actually, I bought both of those, and they both work great. You'll be suprised how out of round the stock bell is once you compare it to a steel one!!

Looky here...

May I say something the reason the bells are out of round is heat it's the bell housing worst nightmare. The new one's coming out have the cooling holes in them and that makes a big diffrence. You guys had posted a picture of a HPI one and that's what the new himoto ones will be like but in the steel not that junk pot metal.

Are those holes for cooling or to reduce weight?? I was under the impression that it was a weight saving maneuver. But I could be wrong.

Those holes save weight and increase cooling, so both.

Be sure and buy the HPI 17T racing clutch bell, and get it from Clermont (it comes with new bearings to boot) - http://www.clermontmotorsports.com/servlet/Detail?no=200

He has fast shipping and is a great guy! I highly recommend him.

Once you upgrade the bell housing the spur gears last alot longer. The bell housing is the problem not the spur gear so much.

Ya dude, direct replacement, perfect fit, stock bearings and all. There's no need for the vented bell at all. It will just cost more and you won't see any difference.
Order a new clutch spring while you're at it. You're going to have it open anyway, and it's just a matter of time before the stock spring snaps. Why take it apart more than once? The Traxxas or MIP replacements work great - http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXUR89&P=7 Traxxas doesn't sell JUST the spring. You will need to get the package that includes the shoes too, which aren't compatible with the Redcat. You will waste over $5 that way. The stock shoes are fine, but they tend to wear seeing they're aluminum. They will probably wear quicker after you upgrade to a steel bell. Before, the aluminum bell AND the aluminum shoes would wear together.
You will also notice a good amount of top end gain with 18 teeeth. The stock bell only has 16 teeth. Two more teeth give it more top speed and doesn't sacrifice torque at all. The Volcano series was designed with a bit too much torque and not enough top end, IMO.
You will need to tweak your HSN and LSN needles all over again. The change in gearing will change the overall engine performance.

15t gives you more low end power but less top end speed, the 18t gives you more top speed but less low end power.
