I have the Power Expander Pro and have added on the failsafe switch and the dual charge jacks. I have two seperate 2750 mah NiMh batteries going into the Power Expander Pro. My question is concerning charging of the batteries.

I know that the two charge jacks share a common ground; maybe the batteries also share this common ground. I try to charge each battery with the charger set for a 4 cell NiMh configuration using a 300 mah charge to each battery using the charge jacks. Whenever I try to charge one or both of the batteries through the charge jacks with the Hobbico Accu-Cycle Elite charger (http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXEYD4&P=ML) the charger always complains about voltage too high. Therefore, I always have to disconnect the batteries from the Power Expander Pro and connect the charger directly to the batteries in order to charge them.

Am I doing something wrong? I would really like to charge both the batteries at the same time using the charge jacks with my Accu-Cycle Elite charger.

Hi,
One thing I should mention right up front, you should not be using 4-cell packs with the PowerExpander Pro. It is meant to run on 5-cell packs only when using NiMH or NiCd.
That said, I am not sure why the Accu-cycle is complaining. I have had people do this with no problem. I wish I could be of more help but I am just not sure what the issue is.
Please let me know if I can try to help any more.

The Elite cannot charge two packs with common grounds.
Unless the expander switches both the positive and ground circuit, you will have to disconnect one pack from the unit for charging.
This is a fault in the Elite and not the PRO.
I have both but have never tried using the PRO's chaerge jacks
