So, how is the big Fusion doing? Are you about ready to put it on the market? Dale

Hi Mike,
Can you give us a hint on what wingspan and engine required? Do you have a waiting list yet?

Wingspan is 80". Engine requirements are the same as my other giant profiles. OS 160, YS 1.40, Saito 180, 30-40 cc gas.

Yes, we now have a brand new 80" Fusion Profile flying and the reports are fantastic. I'll get pictures posted soon. We flew the heck out of it at the NashBro meet and had a blast. The big Fusion flies as good or better than the 67" Fusion. Expect kit availability over the winter.

That's good news. I'll put my bid in for Santa, if you think it might be ready by then.

Will it have a foam core fuse of a built up balsa? I love the way the Yak 55 flies, but you sure have to be careful when you pick it up that you don't squish it. With the 90 Fusion, you don't have to worry.

Also, what type of engine mount? Will it be rails or a plate for mounting a gasser? I guess we can modify it no matter which.

PLEASE HURRY, HURRY, HURRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dale

The 65" yak we made very light and the performance shows. The fuse is very strong but yes the sheeted frame obviously has areas you should not squeeze. I see no disadvantage in this over an open frame like other models out there. On those you can't grab the covering to pick up either....right? The sheeting over the frame REALLY stiffens up the fuse and prevents torsional twisting and prevents tail flutter. When I did a poll about foam core verus wood buildup the results where 80% wood and no foam. Seems most folks hate working with foam. Anyway, I do like the foam core better myself but guess I can't satisfy averyone.

On the 80" Fusion Profile the fuse is built foam core just like the other 80" profiles I've done. I ran an OS 160 using the bud can pipe. Cool setup and plenty of power.

Well honestly I think that 160 has a bearing going bad! HA HA. Plus the beer can pipe has a unique sound as well.
