I just got an Power expander sport with a SuperReg to use in my 33% extra.
Just some question. I have two NoBS 5 cell 3000 mAh Nicad batteries and here in Mexico it´s difficult to get LiIon batteries, (duralite or Fromeco(),
Using the NiCads with the superreg is good, what do you think?
What would be the voltage loss with these batteries?
It´s good to use regular Lipos (the electric planes ones)? I´ve reading that they aren´t recommended on big planes

I use Lipos in my big planes with no problems.

Hi Francisco,
You can use a 5-cell NiCd or NiMH pack with the SuperReg it you want. You should set its output voltage to about 5.5V or 5.6V. You do not want to go below 5.5V because the PowerExpander receiver regulator needs 5.5V in to output the receiver 5.0V. I know several people that use 2-cell Lipo packs on their planes, especially the 50cc size. I don't see any problem there. You want to take the same charging precautions for the plane as you normally do with your electrics. Let me know if you have any other questions.
