Hello,

Not to stir the pot, I know in the past the field had limitation imposed since the soccer field and other areas have been added, the SPA contest had people on the outer areas that would call out anyone in the no fly zone and that person would have to land... Has that been worked out ?

The problem was that the procedure turn was flown to large by some individuals, if you read the rule book govening the procedure turn the airplane should not be out that far, its over 350+ meters out from the zero line to the road that is our boundry and another 50-75 meters to the tennis court that is our no fly zone. If the procedure turn becomes an issue it will be iliminated and another manuver will be substituted not an issue!!!!!!!!!!!!!

we in huntsville have a full 125 yards more than AMA requires.
enough room to fly any of these patterns!

They were doing six sided and rolling loops pre turnaround? I don't recall that.

Are you going to fly or complain!>lol<

As I have stated before in the BPA thread the contest in Huntsville will be all inclusive 1.2 motor 72 or so on wing span...., 90-91 is the rules that we the contest organizers and participants (local) have decided to use> I have read earlier rules and there is not that much differentiation between the years post 1979.

the reason for openess, the SPA held an open ( pipes and retracts) event last year or so and there were not that many that showed.
I beleave I can quote steve byrum There were alot off talkers but few flyers( sorry if i miss quoted you steve).

So that being said! After we see how many people show and what type of planes and equipment are flown (actual people that show up ). Then rules can be clearly established for progressing and forming a SIG or not.

I do not want to exclude "anyone" that wants to fly pre-tunaround from my contest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As with my being pres of my local club where the event is being held I have a responsibility to my club to have a successful contest not knowing how many will show if the rules were to restrictive is another reason for openess of this 1st BPA contest.
