thought some you would find this interesting I will keep you uptodate as the process is finished, but amazed already.

I had a brandnew IB 4200 with only about 10 cycles on it that I had left in my buggy. UNforunetly somehow (even with tthe plastic over the graphite) a hole had allowed the battery to short.
It had 3 volts =( 2 of the cells were at zero. Being that this was a new pack I decided I would charge it and see what it did. Well did exactly what i thought it would do it charged up and then the 2 cells went flat in 5 or so hours.
So I then discharged it on novak smart tray to get them near equal for an idea I thought of. I charge the pack at 480 MAH for 12 hours. then took it off and seeing that the dead cells had power I threw it on the dyna pulse discharger. (as its suposidly able to rebuild chemicals if there there to proper form heck military uses it.)
AS I know the juice is still in the battereis as there were no signs of leakage. It took a good disharge and dicharged for 8 hours!!! I let the battery sit for roughly 8 hours after discharge and all the cells read the proper voltage. I am conditioning the batteries again and then disharging them on the digipulse before I test them to see if they will hold voltage in a car run.

However will be interesting if this makes the battery work half decent again. I was shocked to find the 2 cells holding voltage again its amazing the technology behind dyna pulse discharging.

OH crud I gotta go sorry ill edit the spelling in this post in a few hours. I have to run to work lol.

if it was a lipo id be scared but its a NIMH and shows no signs of issues I do have the pack marked and will be racing those pack in abotu 2 weeks ill post here after the race with good or bad on it. Although I do montor my packs closing even though I drive with em. I regular check with an ohm meter whats what before I place them in my car. As this entire topic here is to be informative in any way of how anythign happens with this technique. I have a battery of ym brothers that has issues, but in this case is not a new pack (which im sure goign be more forgving) then a pack thats aged and then had issues. I am goign to run same test with it, I was before this soldering out the old cells and taking the packs and merging them with working cells, but im goign try one with a dead in there and see if it will dfo same thign under same circumstances as well.

I have revived a couple of NiMh packs with a 4-5C charge rate for a couple of minutes and then a normal charge. All seems OK and I carry them as spare Rx packs in my bag. BUT I know as Catboater says - I'll never put them in a plane, so I may as well leave them at home!
