Got my box today, what a nice little aircraft, hum no rudder,...hum? Seem relatively well put together, Nice striges in the wings to pull servo leads!!! everything dry fits well together, Pictures to follow!

got mine today, boy are those tanks small, the main gear feels soft so will be changing to 5/32 music wire torsion gear like used on the falcon 56 I built 37 years ago.should be an easy change and hold up better.

I not going to mount mine in the wings, I'm going to use flex cable and use one for the elevator, one for the alirons, one for throttle on both engines and I still might fashion a set of rudders and set one for them, all in all still only 4 servos. Maybe a mistake, but that's what I'm going to try.

before you go thru the trouble of building rudders read the build thread of the big brother 337 ,they did not seem to have much effect.

Anyone has gone through mounting the wings part jet..

Would like to hear some tips on how this wings are set up since the manual does not say much.

I am not very clear if the center part goes fixed into the plane and the wings are taken apart or if the whole
wing is soposed to be glued toghether which would be a pain every time since in order to take the wings of you
would have to take the rear cowl of every time..

anyone give me some lights on this..

Yes, I'm here. I am trying to decide how to power this thing... Banging my head against the wall. There is just no GREAT way to do it with nitro engines. I think I'm going to go electric. I think this will end up being a bit of a novelty plane for me and not a daily flyer. Since it is/will be, I don't want to drop a ton of money in to it. What progress have you made?

I have echo aerowoofs ideas, You dont want to put the bigger engine in the back, these aircraft have a tendency to be terribly tail heavy. I have the Royal 336 skymaster and i hated having to put weight in the nose, but had to just to get it to balance. I have a Super Tiger 45 in the nose and a Fox 40 in the rear and it still took a couple of ounces to get it balanced. Go with the big motor in the front and you wont be dissapointed. If I ever change engines I'm going with a K&B 61 in the nose and keep the 40 in the back.

I am working on putting the enines (OS 0.25 FX) and getting the servos in place.

But still have no idea on how the wings will stay on the aircraft , I am thinking if The wing should be glued together or if I should screw them , this wil take a bit of work but seems to be the best way.

Anybody has any better Ideas... Since the manual does not show much on how to do this..

I am catching up with this bird as well... Against my normal style, I have decided to go electric on this one. I'll be running two Vampower/Dualsky 3536-8 motors (350 watts each) on 3 cell LiPos each. Chose the motor based on the batteries that I already had. My flight times won't be the longest, but it should be fun while it lasts. If the model is actually the advertised weight of 5 lbs, that would give me 140 watts per pound which will be very sporty for a plane of this type. Even if it goes to 6 lbs, I'll still have 116 watts per pound which will be fun as well. My goal was to purchase a motor that would give me at least 100 watts per pound and I think I've done that for sure. I think I'm just going to bite the bullet and just remove the wing each time I have to change the battery. At best, this plane will be a "novelty" flyer and something I'll fly only once or twice each time out. It should be fun. Maybe, if I get to work, I can have it up by Sunday. We'll see. As far as wing sections go, I have seen two ways that most are doing it. Some are drilling a small in the bottom of the outer wing panels and inserting small screw into the wing two to hold the panel on. Also, clear packing tape would be a viable option. This may be better for a lighter and cleaner electric option, since the tape would be damaged if it got any nitro on it. Another option that I have looked into is to use small plastic or metal straps that go from the center panel to the outer panels. My Superstar trainer uses this method. There are two little straps, about 3/4 inches in length that are secured into each panel with a wood screw. The holes are strengthened with CA and it seems to work fine. Best of luck...

So you don't seen any way to cut a hatch or make the wind screen removable to get the packs out? I don't have mine ordered yet so I don't know if it's possible to modify the fuse to make pack changes less of a pain.

Mike, to answer your question, no, from my limited point of view. I'm not much of an electric guy and the ones that I do have a designed to be electrics from the ground up. I think that I may be able to make some type of sliding tray and access it from the front windscreen. Two 3S packs will sit side by side (on their sides) and slide through the opening behind the windscreen. It may work out. My plan will probably just be to put them in the middle and then get the kinks worked out after seeing how it flies. We'll see. As for my progress, I am just about done covering. I need to do the tail booms, final coat the cowl, and the other wingtip and I'll be basically done with the outside. Kind of taking my time...
