visioneer_one -> 5% Nitro Fuel w/ 20% All-Synthetic Oil In A Moki 1.80 ... Will I Kill It? (2/5/2003 4:52:34 AM)

Here's the deal. I'm looking to power my GP Giles with either a Moki 1.80 or an OS 1.60. With either engine I plan to run the same fuel I've been putting through my Webra-powered heli - Red Max 5% nitro fuel with 20% synthetic oil. I've been running this in the heli for quite some time now, with excellent results... smooth running, no overheating, no rust problems, etc. I've read that the OS engine will probably do fine with this fuel blend, but I'm unsure about the Moki - their instructions give the impression that the mill will start shedding bits if its run on fuel containing no castor. I've been avoiding fuel with castor oil for two reasons. A. Our field is quite dusty. Castor residue and dust = a major pain come cleanup time. :) B. I primarily run YS four strokes. Enough said. I'd think that the fuel blend I'm using will be OK thanks to the large quantity of oil it contains. What I'd like to know is this - has anyone had experience running big Moki engines on straight-synthetic fuel?
