Could anyone tell me the tire and wheel size for a volcano S30? I wasn't sure if it was 2.2 or 2.8 tires. Any help would be appreciated.

Thats pretty surprising, the sh engines are very good. A good replacement and powerful also is the os .18 cvrx, its pretty much a direct fit and a very good engine. You should use the engine replacement program and get another sh.18 engine, they are very good engines, it will be a much cheaper route to go.

anyone have any issues with the on/off switch on the reciver not working? the plastic around mine broke and now it wont turn on, though it was because of weak batteries but put a fresh set in and still nothing, or is it possible that the receiver is bad? i have no response from either the throttle or steering, and cant even hear the hum when you first turn it on

ok so i think the receiver on/off switch broke on my volcano s30 and the plastic under the switch is broke. I get no response from either the throttle or steering. I thought first it was dead batteries because i left it on, but even with a fresh get i get nothing. anyone else has a similar issue,

is the power switch a part of he battery tray cover or separate

on my volcano s30 the plastic piece broke i just put it back on and put a piece of black tape on it haven't had a problem. Check the wires going to the switch if they are broke you can try to solder them with a pen point soldering iron. The switch is separte

I have a volcano epx pro and just bought another one for my son. we were just running them and noticed his was much slower than mine is. the odd thing is , in reverse his is just as fast as mine and is obviously much faster in reverse than foward. does anyone know why and what i need to do? seems like something is set backwards. thanks for your time,
Jay

So I am looking at eventually getting a body for my volcano s30.  I found ones at proline. So  is what body will fit better, "monster Truck" bodies or the "1:10 truck" bodies?  my guess is the 1:10 bodies?

Hey,

I have a Volcano S30 with just over a gallon of fuel through it.  This is my first R/C, so I'm still learning alot.  I was driving normally, and all of a sudden I noticed a sudden drop in power, and by the time I got the truck back to me it was hardly moving.  When the engine revs, the clutch engages and at least some ( I can't see them all) of the gears in the center diff turn.  The driveshafts going to the front and rear diffs, however, just sit there.  Its making odd sounds, so is there some kind of bearing in the center diff that could have failed, and is this normal at ~1 gallon of fuel?

On the maintence side of things, I clean and oil the air filter regularly, and blow all the dust and dirt off the truck with an air compressor when I'm done running it, as well as burn all the fuel out of the engine and use after-run oil.  On the side of replacement parts, however, all I've changed is a single glow plug.  Is there any maintence that needs to be done anywhere on the transmission (regularly or otherwise) or with the clutch or anything (ie. special cleaning, oiling, etc...), or do most parts just run as-is until they fail?

Lastly, there is some kind of pin (looks like its supposed to be a sheer pin, but a little strong) that goes through the dogbones and causes them to rotate with the fromt/rear diffs.  One of these has fallen out in the front, making the truck essentally 2-wheel drive.  I'll call Redcat and get another, but is that just a freak accident or should I have done something to prevent it from coming out (glue, loctite, whatever)?

Thanks,

Kristoffer

CHECK YOUR GEAR MESH AND THEY RECOMEND CHANGING ALL YOUR CUPS EVERY TWO QUARTS OF FUEL TO KEEP FROM BREAKING DOGBONES HOPE THIS HELPS

Yeah, the gear mesh is good.  That's one of the first things I checked.  The gears in the center diff turn, but the other 2 diffs do not.

Thanks for the info on the drive cups.  I didn't know about that.  However, I've run the truck for over a gallon and had no problems, other than as-yet undiagnosed problem in the center differential.  That would be 2 full sets of drive cups by now, which is more expensive than a set of failed dogbones.  Is there some disadvantage to replacing the drive cups less often, and having an occasional broken dogbone, or would that be a cheaper, equally effective route?
