the stock header is too restrictive on the redcat. That header will help alot.

The car is not that responsive to the transmitter, I changed all the batteries so could the crystals be going bad. I also can't get it to run right like before, it either sounds like its flooding or not enough fuel. I tried adjusting but I have to adjust while I'm running it, longer I run it I have to make adjustments to be able to keep running.

what do you mean by not that responsive? Check and make sure the at the plugs for the servos and batteries are tight in the receiver.

Maybe you have a fuel leak, check the lines, the tank cap, the base of the carb for a leak, make sure your head bolts are tight and your glow plug is good, just because it lights up doesnt mean its good.

EHROOF...... would that header that you are talking about increase performance even if I had just that HPI header and stock pipe????

i am sure just the header would help out but a tuned pipe would make a bigger difference.

I only allocate so much money each week to spend on this car, and i get kind of excited wanting to just go go go but I guess i will just wait until next week and buy both together, that way I can hopefully notice a big difference.

hey guys i have a prob. i recently gut a tornado xp two speed and at first it ran like a bat outta hell(blew my friends cen .18 away). now after just a couple of minutes of running all power leaves and it just runs along at just over idle speed. i have watched my servo action and can see that it is moving fine while this is happening but no matter how much it moves it just keeps running at that low speed with no rev up at all. plus i have only ran about a quart of fuel total. i am kinda new to the game but i do know alot about engines in general (both 2 and 4 stroke) i am completely baffled any help would be usefull before i end up throwing it through a wall.

in reference to the 47t tranny gear and it's bearing slot size:i had the same prob and called redcat. they told me that the gear had been reshaped by its manufacturer and that the new bearings were tied up in customs but would have them in on march 22(its now march 24) but i just used a traxxas wheel hub hex and drilled the middle to fit the original one way bearing. it works great but i still recomend buying the new ones when they clear customs

sounds like your running too rich, is it "blubbery" with no power and alot of smoke? If so you need to lean the needle a little. the high end needle and most likely the low end too. Have you tried to do any engine tuning yet?

it actually has loads of power with a moderate amount of smoke then just goes flat and wont start afterwards

sounds like its overheating, if you let it sit and cool off it will start again right? do you have a temp gun? if not put some water or spit on your finger and wipe it on your cooling head, it it sizzles right away its too hot, if it evaporates in like 5 seconds your ok. your probably running it to lean.

when it stops running and you try to start it, does it feel real easy to pull, like there is no compression? If so, its overheating.

here you go, with a little patience you can do it or he can, if there is a problem, just come here and we will help.

1. upgrade your 2 speed clutch bell to: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&W=001135084&I=LXCLR2&P=K + http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&W=001135084&I=LXDHM0&P=K + http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&W=001135084&I=LXCLR9&P=K
you may need to widdle away a little of the upper plate post so the gears clear it

2.upgrade to this clutch spring traxxas 4146x : http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0095p?FVSEARCH=4146x&FVPROFIL=++&search3=Go

OK, got the parts and my son installed them. He says that there is a little wiggle space at the end. Is that the way it should be?? Thanks
