nice tires but, you need to have the same size diameter since its 4 wheel drive, it looks like the rear are much taller than the front.

Hey guys i got a quick question since people are talking tires.. I recently ordered some wheels and tires from tower hobbies that were said at one point or another would fit the redcat tornado bb.. they are http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/WTI0001P?&I=LXEW42 and http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/WTI0001P?&I=LXEW43 ... now the problem is the rears fit ok after some modification so that I could get the nut on, but when they are on the front they rub quite a bit on the lower turnbuckle... i tried grinding down a little on the inside of the wheel, and now it is a little better, but not great...

my question is what wheels are a direct fit on the tornado bb in a 2.2 size??? and also are you running rears on both the front and back???

thanks guys

hpi pullstart for t-15

you just need to notch a little off the inside of the ribs, i used a dremel, if you use jato tires you dont have to worry about any notchning, they are a direct fit, there's just not that big of a selection of tires for them, just stay away from the stock ones like the anaconda and victory tires.

I just installed the new pull start on my tornado. I believe the part number was 1868, but I am not 100%. If you just tell the hobby shop you need the pull start for the HPI .15, they should be able to find it. Also, it doesn't come with a new one way bearing. You will have to use the bearing from your old pull start. This pull start seems much more robust than the stock one.

ehroof, will those rims also work on a tsunami? I am looking to put some road tires on them so I don't rip up my good set of off road tires.

I was wondering if my wheels should be very stiff when the car is not running. I was just taking the nuts off the wheels and cleaning them. After putting them back on, i noticed that the wheels are very stiff and can't spin smoothly. I don't think it's because the nuts are too tight because and looser, I could trist them off with my fingers. So my question is, does it matter whether the wheels are very tight?

Hi all, I recently brought a HSP tyrannosaurus truck and been reading through these forums for hints/tips and its been amazing, Thanks everyone for all the help! I've broken it in and also broke the steering servo (replaced with MG tower pro 995). The problem I have is it starts fine, but as soon as I give it some throttle the engine cuts out, I've checked the fuel lines. carb, changed the glow plug etc( all the tips mentioned) and still no luck.... I've tried to replace the clutch shoes with the HPI teflon ones but I only got one set of springs (short) and they dont fit at all (I'll post some pics on these later) so I just put back the stock ones on.

Anyone has any idea what could be wrong? The truck runs fine with the glow starter on (but it idles without the starter and shuts off when I give throttle, I've set the LSN and HSN to factory settings)

As I'm new to this, please bear with me! Thanks again for all the help!!

The only thing is it will take away from your take off speed, but if yours is like mine it just spun the tires at take off anyway so it should be fine. If all else fails put the o.s.18cv-rx in there. It has more then enough power to push whatever you can throw at it. I went with a bigger clutch bell and the smaller on-road two speed tranny and it still has more than enough power and my first gear is one tooth off from the stock second gear.

the rims above are 2.2 but the tires are low profile so they are the same or maybe slightly higher than the stock tornado tires, they are wider but the diameter are about the same. if you put 2.2 rims and truck tires, the gearing will be too high, i tried with 2.2 rims and gladiator tires and it had no low end.
