I cant speak for all redcat radios, but I've got a new tornado bb pro a few weeks ago and it came with an fm radio with lcd. Its seem to be working great so far. It has all the settings I need plus some I don't even know how to use yet. ST, TH, trims. ABS,bmx, 10 memory preset. I think redcat has realized this and is updating thier radios, or maybe it was just the pro version, I don't know. It uses 8 alkaline batts., but it has a jack for recharging if I can get the battery tray out of it and do some soldering for a pack and get a charger.

we still havent fixed it all the way. my dad soldered the antenne on my car back together (it ripped apart somehow), soldered some of the wires inside so he could reverse some wires and stuff i dont understand. all i need to buy right now is a new steering wheel because the knobs on the side you dont see on the wheel when its on the actual radio snapped.

can i buy another steering wheel from redcat?

The Pro version of BB and the 1/8 cars from Redcat now comes with decent FM radios, which is a huge bonus, because the rest of us get crap ones.

grrr.... most people buy the tornadoes so why even bother making the 1/8 better that doesn't sell that well. i have no idea why you would buy a hurricane.

Well, 1/8 has always been the more popular selection, because they have more power and more durable. But if tornados are selling better, you have a good point there

hey man im 13 and money doesnt come to easily. im going through the same thing. i got a shockwave also about 5 months ago, its a great start up buggy (thats what im using it for)
i don't have much to say about it except you have to watch how far you turn your steering wheel cuz i busted up my steering wheel and screwed up the electronics. thank god i have an engineer for a dad. he fixed it.
if you want to get in the hobby go ahead and get it. i havent broken anything other than the radio antenne, the steering wheel and the pull starts. and i said pull starts, get a starter box if you get really tired of pull starts snapping.

i just bought a tornado bb and broke it in and everything. then i took it up the road and it shifted and then it was stuck in second. it turned out that the spring that holds the lever that flings out down is missing. so i glued it down so its stuck in 1st. then i made a track in my backyard and was hitting a jump and it flies pretty good but one time i landed a little off and blew apart my rim. luckly i had extras. then i drove it a little more and i saw that my shock tower bent, so i bent it back. at first i hated this thing and thaught it was a waste but now i like it a lot. i have a t-maxx and a smartech commando also and i like this buggy just as much as my t-maxx

Hi everybody,

I´ve bought a Tornado BB few months ago.

And already have problem with spur gear ( 42T & 47T ), it´s a plastic peace, to much fragile.

Parts:

It´s possible to change these plastic parts to aluminum parts ?

yeah nubzorz you have to go through the whole break in and make sure u do it right or else u will have nothing but trouble with the engine and will have to end up buying a new piston and sleve for $50. i would also recomend buying a infared temp probe. they arent cheap but they come in handy for tuning and to make sure u arent over heating your engine. i didnt break in my t-maxx with a temp probe, its good but it probubly could be better. i have the tornado bb and it came with the transmission stuck in second gear. so i rigged it so its stuck in 1st. i like it. its easier to drive than my t-maxx. i know how it is being a kid with these things. im 15 and i know a lot about engines and things even though im a kid and only have been doing this since early spring of 2007. i hate not having money for things and when you talk to people about them older people dont think u know anything. so yeah break it in right so u dont have to waste so much money on other things.
