settings are 2 1/2 out on the high speed neddle, flush with the collar on the lsn and a 1-2 mm hole on the carb for the idle

Hey guys. I recently purchased 2 more redcats within the last 2 weeks...The new Landslide...which is awesome, and my 2nd tornado. However this time I got a Ready to modify (RTM) tornado bb. My other tornado is just the basic one.

My issue is that I cant get the engine throttle linkage/servos set right. The servo is in a different spot and position on the tornado bb versus the regular tornado (which I have no issue setting correctly). The battery holder is also shapped differently which looks to be why its setup is different.

Basically whats happening is that I cant get it set correctly to brake w/out wanting it to jump forward some what or open up like it should. Seems like its set w/too much gas being given right from the start as well. When I pick it up on a stopped position when running the tires start spinning. Any suggestions how to fix this? I know it has to be simple.

I've been drinking so I'm a little confused..lol If it's taking off no matter what the idle is probably too high. Lean it out a little and lower the idle if that"s whats going on. If it's all in the servo take the servo arm off then set it to middle position on the controller and put the arm back on where it should be, that will give you more adjustment. Maybe the screws holding the brake pad are too loose. you can tighten them up too. If it's the linkage then reset it.......I don't really know without looking but those would be my guesses...........

The paper goes between the clutch bell and tranny. when you get the engine tightened down you simply rotate the tranny or bell and the paper will come out. The paper is just used to try to make a gap between the bell and transmission gears.

pretty much. it can still get too tight though. if you know what your doing it's an unnecessary step. It's just to make sure you don't get the mesh too tight, or at least try..lol

I don't bother with paper. I mesh as tightly as it will go, then spin the clutch bell by hand. The extra friction is evident - this is what you are trying to avoid. Then I back it off ever so slightly. The friction is present over a smaller arc of rotation now - due to the slight assymetry which is invariably there. I just keep backing it off tiny fractions at a time until that extra friction disappears. It really is quite obvious when it's there, so you can be sure when it's gone!

buy a new drive cup and drill the screw out of the old one. Heat works to loosen them up but it wont help if its stripped.

Your best bet is to take the screws with you to a good hardware store and match them up. Most good hardware stores, like Ace, have a screw and bolt gauge hanging somewhere in the screw isle.

I have an E PX PRO Tornado.... I have to change the main gear and the smaller gear (sorry, I'm not up on the correct terminology). Any tips on changing this out? Do I need to take the drive shaft out? It also looks like I have to move the motor.... how do I know when I put it back it to line it up correctly with the other gear? As you can tell I am a real rookie at this and would love any advise on this.

Thanks
