You need a failsafe before you run again. Thats a MUST HAVE piece. Spare parts are cheap enough to buy online instead of asking people in here. Better luck next time dude. As for a wider front bumper, I think you'll have to make your own. I haven't seen or heard of one for these buggys.

Ahhhh Randall Jennings hahahaha. Inside joke lol. But anyways i had a bumper on an old volcano that just used the four screws under the car that hold the diff case on. and it was really cool, till my gf was driving it and then drove it too far and supposedly couldnt control it, well it ran all the way across the park, through the street, and hit the curb on the other side at full speed. All that broke was that bumper. Snapped clean and i just took the screws out and removed what was left. Worked great.

What about a RPM bumper for a Traxxas Rustler or Stampede? I know they're wide as hell and can br screwed on from underneath.

engine fix since my tornado dosent have a spring to bring the throtle back to neutural (spelling) rig up a small spring to connect to the throtel linkage to run to the back where the wing is easy fix and you wont need to buy a failsafe (waste of money) there is even a video on youtube for it but i have been in contact with Cameron Redcat the owner and thats what he does even on his $2500 truck i put the failsafe in and all it did was make my tornado take off like a bullet also a failsafe wont do crap if you cant shut your motor off without pinching the gas line and the motor is full out so you do the math would you rather a car still be out of control with your motor full throtel or have a $5 spring to snap it back to neutral ??? lol i know my choice i will have some pics up soon

I dont run a spring, only a fail-safe in all three of my nitros. I've never had a problem where the fail-safe didn't kick in. I'm not stupid enough to run my receiver packs so low that everything dies and the fail-safe can't kick in. But what's nice is, when you find yourself in a area where you get some radio interference, the fail-safe throws the breaks on instead of opening up the throttle and watching your buggy run away from you.

A failsafe is a overated rip off,get a good radio and keep your batteries charged and you have no need for a failsafe.I have been in this hobby a long time and have never used and will never use a failsafe. If your using a junk radio then yes I would use one but if you get a good system one is not needed and is a waste of your money.Good systems can be had on the bay cheap, get one you will be happy you did.

I dont think there is a 100% fix to the 2-Speed issue. If you stick with the stock gears and tranny just make sure you have the proper mesh, you should be fine. Also wouldnt hurt to check the screws every couple of tanks to see if they are loose. I do that about every 5-6 tanks on my Hurricane. You soon find which ones are prone to coming loose and can use some loc-tite to keep them in check. What issues are you having with the 2-Speed? Eating gears?

Hi im looking for some larger tires for my tornado bb. Some monster truck or truck tires that are wider and have more grip would be great. Have any ideas? Thanks

If you go to a larger tire, it will change your gearing and you will have no accel

Hi thanks for that yep chewing the gears and not changing up as well.On the first page of this thread there is the following info is it still the way to go as the date is 2007???

Here are some pics of my tornado xp's:

1. upgrade your 2 speed clutch bell to: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&W=001135084&I=LXCLR2&P=K + http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&W=001135084&I=LXDHM0&P=K + http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&W=001135084&I=LXCLR9&P=K
you may need to widdle away a little of the upper plate post so the gears clear it

2. if you want more low end touque use this clutch bell: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&W=001135084&I=LXM730&P=K you will loose top end speed with this but have much low end take off

3. upgrade your single speed clutch bell to: http://www.clermontmotorsports.com/servlet/Detail?no=200 or this place: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXLST9&P=7

4. upgrade to this clutch spring traxxas 4146x : http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0095p?FVSEARCH=4146x&FVPROFIL=++&search3=Go

Cheers

Its not needed to switch the clutch bells anymore, they used to come aluminum and they would get out of round ruining your gears. but they come steel now

Thanks .so basically keep the gears in good mesh with the clutchbell and should be ok
if i want to change to one speed whats is the best way to go about it.

I have read also the HPI MT2 one speed transmission can just drop in but a bit expensive
Cheers

Yeah I too was looking at the MT2 tranny but like you said, it's way too expensive. Not worth it. If you want to do a single speed conversion, then buy the single speed clutch bell and tranny. Very simple and mad cheap. I only went through two spur gears on my single speed buggy but both were my own fault. As long as you check screws and have a good mesh, you'll be fine.
