I was wondering if anyone could help we with my tornado bb. In adjusting the idle the idle screw came out. Thinking this was a simple enough problem i immdeiatly went to screw it back in, except it would not go anywhere. The idle screw will not screw back in. What is wrong? Thanks

ok so im about to take a shotgun to my Tornado bb. I have done nothing but work on it since i bought it, and its getting old fast. I went through the break in process and everything seemed to be working ok...after fighting it for hours to get it to idle (which it still doesnt do without spinning the wheels). i finally had it running and now the car wont shift, it was just going in first. I took the engine out to check the clutch and see if i could find anything wrong and i couldnt, now that i put it back in, now the car wont even run good in first, and then when it tries to shift it just bogs down and shuts off. I NEED MAJOR HELP HERE. not to mention the hobby shops in this area refuse to work on Redcat racing cars. So any help will be awesome,
thanks

Sorry to hear that your LHS wont work on your buggy. To me an rc is an rc, who cares what brand it is. Anyway, I was running my buggy with my friend yesterday and his Jato was doing the same thing. Where is wouldnt kick into second. His problem was that the HSN needed to be adjusted. It was too lean and once we gave it a 1/4 turn out, she was kicken second again.

Things to look at for why it isnt idleing right. Check your glow plug. If it's still the one you used from break in, it could need replacing.
Also might wanna try getting the needles back to factory specs. My HSN is 2 3/4 turns out and I believe my LSN is 2 turns out. Plus you know the 1mm gap on the carb opening. At least front that you can get her running and retune from there. If adjusting the needles still doesn't help with second gear, then you may have to adjust the shift points in the tranny. Was it at any point kicking into second? Hope this helps.

Thanks for the suggestions, and it really does blow that my hobby shop refuses to help out, but thats ok see if they get any more of my buisness. Anyway it was shifting fine, then it just stopped. Im going to try setting up the lsn and hsn like you said and see what happens. Another problem i may have is the gear mesh, plus i have read alot of people have problems with the stock gears and clutch, so that will be the next thing i will try. This is my first Nitro r/c and im really looking forward to getting things up in running any other advice would be awesome. Thanks

When it came time for me to buy a buggy I went with the single speed because I read that the two-speeds have nothing but problems. Plus where I'm running, I really dont have room for 2nd gear to kick in anyway. But good luck and let me know how you make out. Later, Joe

Are there different color rings around the top of the plug? If so what are they?

i was running my car today and when i would tap the throttle it would seem like the servo wasnt returning all the way back but it was and after a while it would go back to idling again. the car had been almost completely under water but i got most of the water out and it runs alright except for that

My 2 speed transmission on my tornado bb has stripped out two times since getting it in February. I believe this time it was my second speed spur gear since it wont shift into second and bogs out at anything above minimum throttle. Are there any better quality spur gears that will fit my tonado bb 1/10 scale and not strip as easily? thank you. If not is it the 44 t, 39 t, 58 t, 47 t, or 42 t, spur gear that needs replacing. Thanks

have you watched the video one redcat racing support about setting the gear mesh for your spur gear? i know if you don't have it set it right the gears will strip pretty easy.

these could be helpful to prevent the stripping from occurring, however, right now i need the question above to be answered.
