Status: offline 		I have a fairly new tornado - less than a month old- less than a gallon run through it. It ran out of control and ran into a brush pile so it didn't end with a hard impact, but after that the on/off switch on the car quit working-. it was replaced/upgraded. The batteries were changed and now the buggy loses signal at about 15ft from the transmitter. Will run fine in a circle or figure 8's near the controller but once the buggy gets a little further out, it zooms off on its on. Batteries are new, battery pack tests to be fine, does the same thing with recharables in it. Any suggestions?? Thanks!!

Status: offline 		lodmeup i had the same problem with my tornado taking off people say buy a failsafe and all that but they dont work for me the simplest thing i did was found a spring of some sort and hook it to the back under the wing and then the other end to the throttle rod or all the way to the throttle linkage so when you go full out and let it snap back to the neutral possision the carb will go right back to idel and if there is an electronic malfunction the spring dont require batterers so that should help and it's cheaper then the fail safe hope this helps
Cameron the owner of redcat told me 2 do this he said he uses this method on all his rc cars and trucks

Status: offline 		Well, the problem is not that the tornado takes off..... its that after 15 ft I have no control. I've been running it at far more distance than that and been fine previous to this. I want to get atleast my original range back if not more. If 15 ft is as far as it can get from me then I might as well give it to a 4 year old. 15 ft wont even get me to the first curve on the track much less all the way around.... and I've been running the whole track with no problem before now.

I don't see or feel any knicks, cuts, etc. I even tried leaving all the guts ( the battery box, the wires , & receiver) out of the protector box , had my daught walk away with the controller and still repeatidly loses signal at 15ft. Thought maybe I was pinching a wire when I was stuffing them back in, but that wasn't it either.

Status: offline 		Your transmitter or reciever is bad. Unless you have another working setup, there won't be anyway to tell which is bad. About all you can do is send the transmitter and reciever back to redcat if you still are under the 30 day warrenty. If not then your gonna have to buy a new radio system.

Status: offline 		Question on the hpi gears and clutch bell i got these gears the guy sold me one is a 18 the other is a 22 now will i be able to use these or do i got to get 17 to run with the 22.

check glow plug sometimes you can buy them bad now turn high needle out 2-1/2 turns from close and set lsn flush with coller also check for air leaks i had one that wouldn't start i beat my brains out here it was the o-ring around the gas tank lid

Status: offline 		well i'm back on the 3.3 traxxas project again........ here it is so far....i just need

header, muffler, 3.3 carb

i'm having to order the 3.3 clutch and using my stock 2 speed bell but i half to grind the bell down so it wont touch the 3.3's flywheel and hoping the diamater of the 3.3 clutch will fit inside the stock bell gear

i know the bell gear looks crooked its just sitting on ther!!!! its not on yet, still waiting on the cluch shoes

 i will half to drill new slots closer for the motor mounts....

the stock mounts just needed a little clearing to fit on the motor....

i have upgraded with jato shocks and new black body, new wing, high torque and faster servos i think 7.7kg's but i forget the 60 degree turn times but the are faster than stock ones, new fuel/air filters, gas tank..... everything is new pretty much, along with clutch on 2 speed and brake disc

it should be done this month and the motor looks sicccck...... hoping  to get this 2 speeded 3.3 tornado done and videoed

i will be running 25% nitro for a little more kick and still be dependable.

Status: offline 		I have another question;  for some reason when I turn the car it can turn to the left normally but it turns to the right slow and sometimes skips. The radio is fine and so are all the connections. I have no idea what could of caused this, can you please help?

Status: offline 		my redcat tornado is messing up and i need some help the steering servo's was acting up and i bought a new one and now  when i was driving the wheel turned and kept it there untill i either turn the controller or the batteries off and when i turn it back it turns by it self  and i can control the throttle but it wont move when i try to control it if you now what this problem is could you please help is it contoller,steering servo, transmitter, or somthing else thanks

Status: offline 		is the trim working on the radio? well you could try taking the servo horn off and positioning it in a different spot on the server so that when you turn the truck on the wheels stay straight
