Turn your idle screw out while the truck is running and on a block of wood or something so the wheels are not touching. Do it in like small turns till the wheels stop spinning but you still have a good idle. I would leave the radio(remote) alone and adjust the idle screw relying on the radio to control the servo puts extra stress on the servo so set the idle screw instead.you need around a 1 mm gap, just pop off the air filter and look in the carb. I would set your radio)remote to default and use the carb to set everything. If you need a small tweak and I do mean small then use the throttle trim on the radio. The tires should not spin at all if the truck is off the ground at idle. When you adjust the idle screw just tap the accelerator/ radio lightly then watch the wheels .Just curious I know your new you had the radio on while doing this right? So have the truck off the ground, set your radio back to default, adjust the idle screw out till the wheels stop spinning. But keep a good high idle, just set it till the wheels stop moving.. It will take alot more tweaking as the tuck gets broke in more, just so you know. Do not lower the idle too low or you may stall when you hit the breaks thats why I say set it till the wheels stop moving and still have a good idle. Hope this helps

Edit: I forgot to mention your not dumb we all had to start somewhere. Only dumb question is the one thats never asked. Welcome to the family man. I forgot to mention how to set your radio you should see 2 dials one will say st trim thats to set steering and the other is th trim thats the one I want you to set to default meaning straight up dead center. Just be sure to have the radio and receiver (remote on) while doing any tuning.

Thanks I had the radio and the car on. I was had the screws all set according to the factory settings so I think. The low end screw is the one I was tring to adjust when I tightened it the engine sped up and the wheels went real fast when I loosened it up I stalled the car. I will try to play with the idle screw the one under the air filter. Can I take off the air filter and star the car for adjustment and put it back on when I run the car. Oh I did look at the carb opening when I hit the throtle all the way the hole was open all the way and just a slight gap when in nuteral.

Oh on a side note I see these electric starter kits out there. Are they worth the money and do they make the car easier to start. All I wanted to do was get the car running yesterday and had zero luck. I found pulling it was hard I think I might of hydro locked it a couple of times as gas was spitting out of the exhaust. Not sure if the electric starters make life easier.

This forum is great by the way so many people helping me out.

the electric starter will only replace the cord so u dont have to keep pulling it but if ur car doesnt start with the pullstart it wont start with the electric.... it only makes it easyer because it removes the PULLING PART but ur car still have to be tuned properly...

if your engine is tuned properly and has been taken care of it will start first or second pull every time.

Ok I got it started and I broke in the engine. Now my issue is when I getting it running when I put the break on full it still runs and the car does not move so I think I have that set up ok. When I give it gas and then let off it is still running like I am giving it gas untill I hit the break all the way to stop it. I do not know if this is normal. should it slow down once I let off the gas or do I allways have to use the break to slow it down.

no.. it should slow down... now its time to adjust the THROTHLE on the controller... watch the carburetor when u acelerate it opens when u release it closes when u brake it closes a little more(thts how urs is)... what u want to do is adjust it so when u release throtle the carb closes to a position where when u brake it doesnt move...
I hope I was clear enough... kind of hard to explain online....

WOW... thts all I can say for 200$ on the tornado... I totally changed my mind about REDCATRACING.... because my volcano was a piece of **** when I got it... but I wasnt really surprised since its so cheap but when I got the tornado s30 I noticed it was better than the volcano... it came all aligned already meshed correctly and with thread lock on MOST of the screws tht needs it... the car is working perfect... took it out for break in today... I m a little confused with the low speed nedle since the other engine I learned on is only one needle but I think I got it set right.... how do u knw the low speed is set right??? the car accelerates really fast if I dnt control it spins out so much torque.. so I think the low speed needle is right.... let me knw how u guys do it.... and also the pull start is getting stuck on the throthle link... I ve seen people on utube with cars running away because of tht... how do u guys fix it?? I m scared about it... otherwise its a total different experience than the one I had with the volcano... its great... I ran like only 3 tanks after break in... the sh engine has WAY more than enough power for it and after its already going insanely fast it switches to 2nd gear and man I couldnt believe.... I need to talk to someone to be a dealer of redcat cars... only today I wouldve sold 3.... 2 people stopped their cars to ask about it...

I tuned it up today and it runs great except for it not slowing down when I let off the gas. I think my clutch is engaging to soon at low RPM how do I adjust this.

i would recommend swapping to the single speed. I went though dozens of gears before i changed. Still on my first single speed gear. I did hear that himoto is working on a metal gear 2speed tranny. Not sure if or when it will be out though.

since the transmissions in these cars are crap, is it possible to mount the hot bodies 10 transmission in the car?
