thanks man i will go to hobby shop right now

edaslan -> RE: Redcat Racing Tornado Thread (2/1/2007 5:05 AM)

and one more thing where can i get user manual for my xp

ehroof -> RE: Redcat Racing Tornado Thread (2/1/2007 5:09 AM)

maybe redcat, its pretty worthless though

arlo1 -> RE: Redcat Racing Tornado Thread (2/1/2007 8:18 AM)

Who all has upgraded to the 4146x traxxas clutch spring? Do you notice the diference in rpm does it launch harder?

nitrospeed33 -> RE: Redcat Racing Tornado Thread (2/1/2007 8:31 AM)

i have it but i never used the stock one, but it does take an extra milisecond to take off, it has more stall, but it just shoots ya off. its cool.[:D]

arlo1 -> RE: Redcat Racing Tornado Thread (2/1/2007 9:37 AM)

so you could probably set up the ide a bit too? Higher stall speed = more power on the launch. But is this the ticket?

nitrospeed33 -> RE: Redcat Racing Tornado Thread (2/1/2007 6:35 PM)

i dont know about the idel, you could try, it really just depends on if your car sounds good when in idel and if it doesn't move. really all the traxas one does is give yo ua higher stall, so you'll need more rpm, then when it reaches the appropriate rpm, your car will just shoot of. it does have more hesitation so it wont be as immediate, but it will give you faster acceleration. you can only notice the higher stall difference when you try taking off at really low throttle, if you floor it, it will go.

edaslan -> RE: Redcat Racing Tornado Thread (2/1/2007 11:13 PM)

i want to get electric starter for my xp but i dont know whitch model fit to it ?

ehroof -> RE: Redcat Racing Tornado Thread (2/1/2007 11:23 PM)

hpi rotostart setup: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXFET1&P= (backplate without wand, you would have to use a drill and a long flat head bit)

or the complete setup with starting wand: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXMVE0&P=M

arlo1 -> RE: Redcat Racing Tornado Thread (2/2/2007 5:38 AM)

I was just meening if the stall speed is higher you could set up the idle to just below the engagement rpm and then the hesitation should be gone right?

ehroof -> RE: Redcat Racing Tornado Thread (2/2/2007 5:58 AM)

yes

arlo1 -> RE: Redcat Racing Tornado Thread (2/3/2007 8:44 AM)

New question. Whats the difference between a tornado bb & tornado xp? I found on ebay a xp for sale from jemsmarketing for 145 it says it has a .18 engine in it, and I just ordered a bb for 125 But I thought the bb ment big block eg the .18 engine instead of the .15?

bluecaka69 -> RE: Redcat Racing Tornado Thread (2/3/2007 9:43 AM)

the bb just has pivot ball suspension

arlo1 -> RE: Redcat Racing Tornado Thread (2/3/2007 9:48 AM)

Cool. looks like I am looking to up grade!

arlo1 -> RE: Redcat Racing Tornado Thread (2/3/2007 11:19 AM)

Wait. which one is better? I would think pivot ball is better.

ehroof -> RE: Redcat Racing Tornado Thread (2/3/2007 7:37 PM)

they are different suspensions, i dont think one is better than the other, just different.

frekbynature2002 -> RE: Redcat Racing Tornado Thread (2/4/2007 6:42 PM)

I'm new to the RC world. Anyway, will the above work on a Tornado BB(thinking of buying one)? Also, do you need a starter kit, glow plug? Like I said I'm new and just need the info to help decide what I need to replace at initial and what to buy.

dclintonh -> RE: Redcat Racing Tornado Thread (2/4/2007 7:01 PM)

yea get the starter kit. but i would say not to get the 2sp tornado, get the xl its not as fast but you will have alot less problems with it.
if you noticed the high end rc buggys are 1 sp and the xp, like i have and the bb are two sp. its just to complex for all the dirt and sand, jumps, crashes and such.

i just run mine in the parking lot now, every time that thing gets dirty somthing stops working.

someone told me this before i got mine and i wish i would have.

the bb comes with a 2 speed and a .18 engine, the lx comes with a single speed and a .16. i would suggest the bb since it has the pivot ball suspenstion, just upgrade the clutch bell and the clutch spring and you should be fine. i have 2 of the xp's and i make one a single speed and kept the other a 2 speed. The biggest problems with the these are the clutch bells and springs, once you change them you are fine.

frekbynature2002 -> RE: Redcat Racing Tornado Thread (2/5/2007 5:19 AM)

thanks for the in put, the clutch bell is the one listed that I can use on the BB? Now its just getting the old lady to let me get it, LOL

slide150 -> RE: Redcat Racing Tornado Thread (2/5/2007 9:07 PM)

where can i find clear bodies i'm wanting to paint my own and are there other bodies that fit the posts other than the stock one i like the stock one i just want to see other options

bluecaka69 -> RE: Redcat Racing Tornado Thread (2/5/2007 10:43 PM)

you can buy a painted body soak it over night in brake fluid wake up and paint will peel rght off with your fingers trust me it works great when your done strain he brake fluid put it up for next time

arlo1 -> RE: Redcat Racing Tornado Thread (2/5/2007 11:33 PM)

have you done this? I would be carefull brake fluid is realy hard on plastic I have a bunch of plastic clips I use to hold the hose in my container for bleading brakes and some times the clips fall in and even if its for one day I will try to ues one of the clips and they crumble!

slide150 -> RE: Redcat Racing Tornado Thread (2/5/2007 11:37 PM)

i know acetone and a rag works thats how i cleared out my windows
