we had two of the stock mufflers melt the baffle inside till it was almost completely shut. we kept leaning the cars out and they were running normal temps but just had no power. took the melted baffle out, re-tuned the engine and it ran perfect.

alot of hobby shops are stuck up, i am amazed how some of them stay in business. Dont worry, we will figure out whats going on with your car, your better off learning anyways, if the hobby shop fixes it, you wont learn anything.

Well the rubber peice that connects the exuast and header, the second smaller rubber peice inside of that was bent and blocking air flow, i fixed that and it starts up and runs on a stand. I put it on the ground and right when it touched it shut off. I think there might be a fuel blockage because it will run a about a minute or 2 then shut off. The exuast helped alot tho it sounds better and at least starts up. It might not be a fuel blockage though it was using up fuel and i could see it going through to the fuel line fine when i primed it. Im not sure i'll try tweeking with it before you answer again. And its not running to lean i have it at high 2 1/4 out and low even with silver collar. Factory settings

if it runs off the ground and stalls when you put it on the ground, its probably the clutch spring. when you start it off the ground, do the wheels spin, then when you hit the brake it stalls? if so its the clutch spring.

When i pull the pull starter the wheels spin. even if it doesnt start that time they still spin. It wont start on the ground it will only start on a stand. When its started and i put it on the ground it shuts off.

clutch spring, you can use a traxxas 4146x spring but not the shoes that come with it if you want a quick fix from a local hobby store, if you want a good set of shoes and a spring that you can use then get this: http://www.clermontmotorsports.com/servlet/the-267/teflon-shoes-with-spring/Detail

these is not the stock setup and really work great and should last you a long time.

its 100% the clutch spring!!!!!

its the metal gears on the engine, its behind or underneath that, you have to take the engine out, (4) screws on the bottom, take the clutch bell off, screw at the end of it, and swap the spring, you wrap it around the shoes, you will need to clamp it first, if you get the setup from clermont, you would take the shoes off too, just but everything back the way you took it off, its real easy
