1. did you break it in? and How did you break it in? and How many tanks?
2. did you take the temp while you where running it?
3. A hot engine stalling and being very hard to start but starts easily when its cooled off is a sign of a blown engine.
4. Can you run it when it first starts for a minute or two then it stalls?
5. When you go to start it right after it stalls, is the compression low, very easy to pull, if you hold the car up by the pullstart, will the car stay in the air, when cold or hot, especially warm?

sorry to ask so many questions, i think you may have a blow engine, sorry to say, 2 turns on the high needle seems a little on the rich side for break in.

1. yes i broke the engine in the way the book says to and i used 5 tanks
2.no i dont have anything to use to take the temp well i have a laser thermometer at work that i should grab some time
3. ......... i hope thats not the problem and i dont really see how i could have blown the engine..... but that could be....
4 exactly
5.well no i cant hold the car in the air by the pull start (the engine is warm), but sometimes i seem to get dead pulls like the rope slipped but the pull start is brand new the knot on my last one came out.

and dont worry about all the questions i feel like im starting to get somewhere anyways. and when i broke it in i didnt really know about tuning it i just went by what the book that came with it said

i think i might make a video of what my car is doing so maybe someone that sees it might really know whats going on. it seems like all my problems came at the same time the pull start knot came out so i had to replace that and my servos went wacky (they run normal on reverse settings) but my car ran awesome until that pull start broke...

the easy pullstart is the one way bearing in the pullstart, you can usually clean it out with brake cleaner or carb cleaner. I am sorry bro but it sounds like a blow engine. An easy temp tester is the spit method, put some spit on your finger and wipe the head, if it sizzles and pops right away its too hot, if it evaporates slowly in like 5 seconds or so your ok. You can use water too, lol, just put a couple of drops on the head.

one last question. If my engine is blown is it repairable at all? Or does it mean I need a new engine?

you can install a new piston and sleeve

http://redcatracing.com/itemdetail_part.asp?partno=r005

or for 50% off you can just use the engine replacement program:

Ok so i was back on page 3 and 4 about the clutch spring and stuff. I was told it was the clutch spring. It was the clutch spring, it broke. I put a new one on and its doing the same thing. Im about to take it off and see whats wrong. I didnt completely tighten the engine down i just lined it up and put it on the stand and i pulled it and the tires spun. Not near as much as before but they still spin. Any suggestions if i mighta done somethin wrong?

the tires will spin no matter what if they are off the ground and your not hitting the brakes.

Yea i kno but it was spinning like it would if the clutch spring was broken. I took it apart again and put it back together and it worked. So im all good now. Thanks
